If we don’t find a left tackle before fall we are in deep crap. I don’t care how good Young, Gibbs, Burton and company are. If we have no one protecting the blind side, it will matter not.

You need to lighten up a little Cowboy. The Bama Sunshine Club will be along soon to explain about all the elite talent we have stockpiled on the OL.
Wait...I think I hear them coming now.

I'm responding to the last two comments before Josey:
Ummm.. We have Steen coming in.
Steen, Cohen, Mclaughlin, Ekiyor and Latham. That is the likely line up.
TE: Randolph and Latu. Robbie Outez, and the freshmen, we'll be fine. I've said before we need a transfer at TE, but now, I don't think so.
The offense will be real good once we fix the dropping of the ball. So, its little early, but
this is what I see will get playing times as of now:
Burton, Brooks, Leary, Earle, Holden, Anderson, Law for WR. That's a solid good group.
If we get OL situation handled, we can easily see 4 or 5 receiver on field at times throughout the game.

I don't think anyone would argue that the OLine is loaded with elite recruits, but raw talent isn't the issue. They looked very poorly coached last year.

I think you are way more likely to get a post from Josey complaining about the potential of sunshine pumping than actual sunshine pumping
. You can almost set your watch by it.

LOL
Well go ahead and just fire the guy you just hired to fix the problem.
No way could it be talent? Right.

Satterfield: Tyler Harrell Improved As Much As Anyone
Said a week or so before he entered the portal. Tough break for Louisville
Satterfield would go on to say that he is the fastest guy he’s ever coached. This would include TuTu Atwell who ran a 4.32 (Although this might have been a Covid Pro Day)

“You know, he doesn't want to be known as just a guy that runs by people and this spring he’s made a point of underneath catches, curl routes digs, catching the ball,” Satterfield said. “He's improved as much as anybody in the three years I've been here. You know, just in his work every single day putting it in. It's been tremendous.”

Considering how highly rated every recruit on the OLine is/was, you're saying that Bama missed on every one of them and they're not talented? And coincidentally the OLine coach from last season is gone?
Yeah, not sure about that theory.

That's pretty incredible. He's got to feel amazing walking around. Gotta believe he can contribute some at that weight. He is gonna be a bull rushing monster. And you can't double team anybody in the middle with these guys like Anderson and Turner on the edge.

Really high potential with Oatis but who is he jumping over on the depth chart for PT ? Burroughs looked really good and Tim Smith is going to be near the top. Dale is as well.

Did he play in the A day game?

Always room for more War Daddies. A good rotation on the DL is excellent. Those guys are the most likely to get tired. Dale hasn't stayed healthy in his career. Smith can probably play more spots than just the nose. But if I'm the coaching staff and Oatis is as strong as they say he is, I'm lining him up right over the center.

Jaheim Oatis: 2 total tackles, 1 solo, 1 sack, 1 TFL

He probably won't jump into the top 4 or 5, but I think we will see him regularly in goal line/short yardage packages.
I would love to see this guy be the next DT playing fullback on offensive goal line heavy sets.

I think historically Saban has rotated guys on the DL far more than any other position.
Ashawn Robinson is a guy who came in as a freshman and made plays from the 2nd group of DL. Oatis looks to have a similar build in his "after" picture above. Of course, Ashawn Robinson was 36 years old his freshman year at Bama. But Oatis seems to have really good closing speed. He does more than just disrupt the pocket, he makes a lot of tackles. I know that Saban isn't gonna let this dude talk to the media, but I have to believe he feels like a million bucks at this new weight.

Oatis is one of the rare kids to get a Bama offer as an 8th grader. And, more impressive than that is the offer remained all those years until he graduated. Saban likely knows this kid and his family better than any kid he's signed in recent years if not ever. I get the feeling Oatis will play this upcoming season. And, I don't think stars has anything to do with anything when it comes to Oatis. Saban likes Oatis and has liked him for a very long time and that makes him a 5 star in my mind.
I said earlier ^^^ that Oatis may have the longest relationship with Saban of any player that Saban has recruited. Receiving an offer as an 8th grader and living up to his potential to keep that offer and sign with Bama tells me this guy is no ordinary DL. Damn stars when it comes to Oatis. I also said Oatis may take someone's job because as far as I'm concerned none of the DL upper classmen on the roster have distinguished themselves to the point that a freshman upstart can't supplant them.

I'm hoping Khurtiss Perry can get a mini Aaron Donald going to go with Oatis. Wonder if he is put on any, I know he came in around 265.
