I’ve thought about this no less than a thousand times. What happens if we show up in Starkville and the defense is still as lost as ever. Will Saban finally cut Golding?

I doubt it. He'll lay the blame at the players feet. His go to the past three years since Golding's been there is to say that "the players didn't execute". Never heard him talk like that when Kirby and Pruitt were here.

Probably not. I haven't heard Saban make any notable comments about bad scheme or bad playcalling on the defense. I don't see why that would change now.

Saban has always harped on execution. Let me refresh your memory:

While Kirby was DC:

After beating Clemson in the CFPCG 45-40:

Saban said, “We didn’t always play pretty in this game. It wasn’t one of our best games when it comes down to flat execution…”

While Pruitt was DC:

Saban after beating Ole Miss 48-43 in 2016:

Saban said the Tide could have lost the game because of mental errors and lack of execution.

After a 49-30 win over Arky in 2016:

Nick Saban: "We certainly didn't play pass defense like we need to."

Nick Saban: “We need to be more difficult to score on.”

"I know we were out there for awhile," linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton said. "We weren't executing, and that's why we were out there. That's why we have to do a better job executing this week."

Saban said this about beating Colorado State 41-23 in 2017:

-- Saban liked the fast start, was dominant early.
-- "But we didn't finish" and let them back in the game.
-- Made a lot of mental errors on defense. Continuity isn't what it should be right now.
-- There were some critical third downs Alabama couldn't get off the field in the second quarter. "We didn't execute, that's what happened." He wasn't pleased.

These are just a few that popped up on a quick Google search. I’m sure there are many more examples…

we going to be in a lot of nickle and dime as much as they are throwing the ball.

Also it appears when we are in our base D we start two DL in the middle and then 31 on the outside in a down position with another outside Lb in a two point stance. I assume we see a lot of that Sat.

So basically we were 2-4-5?

So we need BOB to be a better play caller,

I saw Klatt talk about this yesterday. Basically he said that when Bryce threw the int we ran 4 wide with no motion and were trying to create levels of depth to the back of the endzone to the front. Klatt said when you only have 15yards to work with those levels need to be created horizontally from sideline to sideline and BOB didn't do that with any motion or rubs upon release. He said Sark would have scored 14 on those 2 drives inside the 5 whereas we only ended up with 3.

CodeName1, I doubt it. He's in practice pad everyday... So he's more of week to week at this point. All signs point to him returning after bye week. Timeline matches up to LSU game. Not New Mexico game.

Definitely hope that’s this case. Predicting the timeline for return from injury is made based off historical data and that’s all it is, a prediction. Several factors come in to play that can alter that time line one way or the other.

Saban once again the Highest paid Coach.

David Shaw is making almost $9 mil. Has he ever won the PAC-12? I don’t remember.
