Is he back at practice? If not, the roster doesn't mean a whole lot.

I didn't say or imply that being listed on the roster means K-Rob is back at practice now. I merely provided the "official word" remaster916 asked for. I have already posted reports in this thread from well-connected BOL posters that KRob returned to Maryland in June and opted out. I've posted that Saban has said health-related info (including COVID-19, opting out, etc.) on specific players will not be released by UA unless a player authorizes it. I also posted the articles quoting Saban's remarks about that. Since remaster916 is here regularly, I assume he's probably seen all of those posts.

Well, KRob being listed on the current official UA roster does mean he hasn't yet permanently withdrawn from the team and might return to UA and team activities later on. He can't return right now because UA is at the 85 total counters limit.

Most schools don’t offer scholarships to specialists. In fact, I’d imagine Alabama is one of the few that’s had kickers, punters, and snappers on scholarship all at the same time.

Oh I agree , especially for punters . Bama has signed kickers for years but the #2 player at a position usually would draw interest from SOMEBODY if the ranking/ value was truly worthy . Don’t trust kicking camp ratings is my point

I'm aware of all of that. And the fact remains, that nobody knows if he'll return from Maryland for next season or not. We will see, but I'm not counting on it.

DeLong is still on the roster too, and according to insiders he's been nowhere to be found at practices, and for all practical intents and purposes is not a part of the team. Maybe we're just honoring his scholarship until he can find a landing spot for next year, but he aint a part of this team, even if he's on the roster.

My post was intended to inform others too, so they'll understand why we all have to just wait and see whether KRob will be returning later.

Fwiw, a BOL "insider" poster recently posted that "DeLong's departure is in the works" and "not a matter of if but when."

Fair enough! Just didn’t want people to look at the roster and assume he was back and playing this season.

Gotcha. Same here, and that's why I re-explained the unofficial info on KRob and lack of any official communication from UA about him opting out and any expectations related to it.

I wonder if delong was the other player that opted out. There was rumors that it was 2 players, it seems like every other player has been seen at practice

I'm a little surprised Bulovas is still on the roster. I thought he'd leave after the way last season ended.

Looks like Rakestraw is starting for Mizzou. Very interested in watching how he matches up with our WRs.

Big receivers and some grown men on that defensive line. Should be a good test against a group of seniors and RS Seniors

Mizzou is a solid mid-level SEC team. They aren't bad. Hope we show up to play with the right mentality!

Posted on BOL by a guy that's had some good info
quote:

The truth…ALABAMA not missing any starters for covid or injury as of Tuesday night. Javon Baker still out for covid related and 22 out with broken arm. As many have realized Keilan Robinson has opted out but not in transfer portal so hopefully he will be back next year.
ALABAMA has only had the one bad injury through summer (22) and fall camp. You can credit strength guys and the fact that the players did not have brutal 10 day period where they practice all day. Spreading out practices over month and a half and only practice once a day had to help with no injuries!!
Fun fact: Sam Johnson great at punting ball inside 10. Will very consistent kicking FGs and can easily make it 55 yards.
Opted out 1, injured 1, Covid 1. 9-22 6 PM

Hopefully we can stay away from the major injuries this year. It seemed like every week from August-September last year we had a starter knocked out for the year.

Almost all of Mizzou's starters are 3rd-5th year guys (JR, SR, GR). They start only 2 SO (LB, S) and 1 FR (CB Rakestraw) and have 8 returning starters on defense.

They are a solid team. We need to be ready from play 1.

I'm just don't believe Missouri is anywhere near a solid team this year. I believe Bama easily covers the spread and puts up 50 plus on Missouri.

This Bama team is loaded.
