Seriously. The guy makes outlandish statements that ooze negativity consistently. Like 24/7. It makes it very easy to assume that he's a troll (which I firmly believe). It got old a long time ago.

remaster916 definitely has a negative imagination and outlook, but at least he'll occasionally post something positive.

JoseyWalesTheOutlaw is another one with a similar negative demeanor, but he's worse. He's hardly ever posted anything positive. He just randomly pops in to post negative remarks about players and coaches then disappears for a while.

Both need a permanent vacation from the board. It's one thing to debate but to act like a jackass consistently is quite another.

Most hype I have heard for a freshman defender since Minkah.

Having a S+ tier pass rusher for 3 years sure would be cool.

Everything Nick Saban said after Alabama's second scrimmage (BamaOnLine)

Well, it's like this. Call me a sunshine pumper if you want to, but week in and week out the D isn't not going to see anyone better than they do in practice every day. Indeed, they likely won't see anyone as good until the playoffs

We used to say that very same thing about our defense shutting down our offense in practice/scrimmages. I wish the defense could at least make our offense work for their yards. It does indeed sound like more 3rd and Golding.

I think he has a real chance to start. Bmore should be fine from the sound of it. I like our secondary mix. I think we’ll have a lot of mixed in talent. This will be fun.

Coach Saban still making it clear in his presser that we have DL that are good stopping the run but aren't getting pressure. Then we have DL that are good at getting pressure but lag behind in stopping the run. I think what we need to be real good at this season is getting our big guys off and on the field in all those "simplified packages" that Golding talks so much about.

Golding's idea is flawed. HUNH can eliminate most opportunities to make any defensive substitutions between plays. Also, RPOs are both run and pass plays. We MUST develop our DL players to be good at both pass rushing and stopping the run.

That's right. It can. So we should be seeing our different packages sprinting on the field once the whistles blow a play dead. In the meantime, it wouldn't hurt to have some edge rushers and blitz packages dialed up either.

There's not enough time between plays to substitute vs HUNH. The problem is the guys trying to get off the field before the next snap.

Well, you added to your post. So, I would add that Golding has talked about his simplified, special packages for 2 preseasons now. If we find ourselves in the same unfortunate bend but don't break style that kept us on our heels last season, we are in trouble. Nothing is perfect against good HUNH spread teams, but sitting in the catcher's position with all of our talent and speed, speed, speed. I ain't buying that one.

From a poster on BOL that seems to have some legit info.
quote:

The truth.. I heard all this…Anderson dominated with Allen out, starting line 60,65,69,55,73 but played 79 at RT some and center with ones, all 3 QBs good, Mac did have one int, Bryce had fumbled snap, Paul had no turnovers. all three threw for good % and all 3 had scoring drives.

Sanders and Williams had great day running!!! Najee always good. Robinson did not get many carries Williams clearly #4 back.

Will kicked great… 85 and 98 had some good punts

More later…
quote:

Hit of the day two; Metchie was catching a 50 yard pass from Mac and Eddie Smith destroyed him and he dropped it. Second on two yard line Anderson blew around tackle and destroyed Sanders for 4 yard loss

Gotta coach up players to be 3-down players that are effective against run and pass. Against fast tempo offenses, you only get occasional opportunities to rotate guys to keep them from getting gassed.
