there used to be athletic dorms but the almighty ncaa stopped that

course, keeping college kids, even dedicated and motivated athletes, from partying with all the other students would be a full time job for a whole staff. If anybody could do it, though, I think it would be Saban

nahhhh. Young guys will never, ever, stop chasing young ladies

Yikes! Hope your DD is ok, Bear. Mine is getting tested twice a week whether she likes it or not because of working in the athletic department around the athletes. She will know pretty darn quick if she's positive.

You can't "dip into" an endowment. The money doesn't belong to them unless they spend it on it's specified purpose. And the unrestricted funds, which are not required to be spent on a certain subject matter, are usually already earmarked for operating expenses across the college.

I live in NC and know a freshman at UNC. He said once they went online, tons of students were packing up and heading home. Some will stay, but many will not. At the very least, going online will drastically depopulate the campus and make a football bubble more possible.

The problem at Chapel Hill roughly 50% of the students live off campus, which has them stuck in leases. So half the students are potentially staying. UNC only requires freshman to live on campus.

Athletic activities(football included) have been suspended since Wednesday. They are suppose to resume today. So far UNC has only had 4 players opt out, but they may have a few more this week, especially now that scholarships are protected and eligibility has been granted for an extra year.

I just conservatively estimated maybe 10000 live on campus. Not sure , but at 13,000 per that is 130 million dollars ... big blow to send them home right now

It's a lot, but I don't think it's that much. There are 8400 students at about $8.5k-ish average. (The range is $5,900 to $10,600).

This is the first time I’ve seen a pinned post where the subject reads “please delete.”

(Yay, it's back!)

Based on the conversation on page 324, the first scrimmage might be by the end of the week or on Sat??? Anyone hearing a specific date?

All an elaborate scheme to get this pinned at the top of the board I see.

That projected date for the first scrimmage was based on a typical year. This is not a typical year by any narrative. I have not heard any specific dates for the first scrimmage. I will suggest that info coming out of the scrimmage will likely be even harder to come by this year than in previous years as I doubt the press would get inside the stadium and I do not think the press box is even an option yet.

Right, good point. Are they still in just shoulder pads and helmets, or are they in full pads now?

It's back! I'm handing the baton off to all of y'all to keep it filled with the latest reports on Bama football. I for one appreciate all of the information y'all will be bringing to the board.
