Will helmet communication (and tablet communication on the sidelines) be used in the Playoffs this year? I know the NCAA approved it, but will it be in place? This could be interesting.

Agreed with this ^^^^^. I appreciate how hard Jase and Roydell try and they've given their all for Bama but let's be brutally honest, neither of them are quick anymore since they both blew out their knees.

Jam Miller and Justice Haynes are much quicker and faster but aren't the pass protectors (yet) that Jase and Roydell are. That said, CNS is ferociously loyal to seniors even if a younger player is just as good or sometimes better.

Barring injury, Bama is gonna roll with Jase and Roydell for pretty much the entire game(s). Bama can and probably will win with them as the starters.

Both Roydell and Jase have been essential to winning games this year. Jase had that clutch catch and Roydell has had some games where he put the offense on his back.

They arent the best two RBs we have ever had. But they have got huge hearts.

Roydell and Jase are experienced players. I also think that Roydell has been really good the last few weeks. He had a good game against LSU. Hope that Jase can heal up for the bowl.

Random factoid: Jase was announced in the starting lineup at the SEC Championship Game (even though he clearly wasn’t starting)

Jase and Roydell absolutely should play they are both good backs. Roydell especially. Guy is a bruiser and gets it done. Time and again people keep saying these things. He got a huge 1st against Auburn, huge second effort TD against UGA.

Some dude from Walter Football put out a new 2-round mock draft 3 days ago. It's, uh, interesting to say the least.

4. Washington Redskins: J.C. Latham, OT, Alabama
15. Seattle Seahawks: Dallas Turner, OLB, Alabama
21. Minnesota Vikings: Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama
50. Houston Texans: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama
61. Baltimore Ravens: JaCorey Brooks, WR, Alabama
64. Philadelphia Eagles: Chris Braswell, OLB, Alabama

More likely that the Patriots would take Brooks that early. But im pretty sure he went in the portal instead of the draft.

Roydell Williams is technically sound as a pass protector but his build can get him into trouble when the ask in the protection scheme is too much of a mismatch for him. If he's picking up bigger backers or edge players, they can sometimes just overwhelm him.

Of course, I think some of that may have been on the tackles and guards getting Williams into "oh shite" situations earlier in the season. He held up well in the UGA game but some of that was scheme. Rees really attacked the edge with Milroe as a designed runner after the first two series. UGA had to back off with their edge pressures and their interior pressures were compromised by their commitments to 1 or 2 spy concepts.

Rees has gotten better about scheming around our guy's liabilities during the season. But to win a title, it is going to take liabilities becoming, if not strengths, at least no longer liabilities.

He's been a college coach most of his career.

Some coaches prefer the college game. There's one in particular that I'm very glad feels that way.

It was not just Jalen, Alabama WRs dropped ~5 3rd down conversions. "Good hands" Dieter dropped 2.

Sark essentially abandoned the run game after Bo went out. Alabama threw 30+ passes which was ridiculous in that game. Not Sark's best moment. Understandably, the rust showed. Things picked up when Smitty, Jeudy and Ruggs arrived in '17 and Waddle the following year before Sark returned in '19 to boos from many vocal Alabama fans.

Edit: just saw a post by 1BamaRTR that said much of the same as this post. Sorry

He abused Downs with a three play series. It was pretty ridiculous. Sark is a mastermind and the only thing that would give Texas a chance in a rematch.

"mastermind", not really, good yes.

UTx's OL and DL whipped both Bama lines - somethimes badly. They won easily at the LOS. Their secondary was bad, but covered up by a top notch DL. IMO, Ewers seems to be a big game type QB. He was hitting long balls that he normally does not. But IMO, UTx was the superior team that day, not just on the scoreboard because as already noted, they were superior at the LOS. Alabama was fortunate to have a lead early in the 4th quarter, primarily on Jalen's big-play capability.

I think Rumph is a great coach.

Josh Chapman, Nick Gentry, Jesse Williams, Damion Square, Quinton Dial, A'Shawn Williams, and Jonathan Allen played well and/or played above their talent level.

A’Shawn Robinson was one of the most disruptive DTs we’ve ever had. Loved that guy
