I agree but Sark is out of this world with his play calling.

Too bad he sucked in the 2017 National Championship Game against Clemson.

One more first down and Bama wins.

We scored a touchdown on our last possession. Never got the ball back.

Alabama had 16 first downs the entire game.

And your contention is we would’ve won had it been 17?

We struggled holding the ball that game but at some point our inability to complete routine passes did us in. We ran it well but when you get to 2nd and 3rd and long you need your QB to make a play. Hurts at that time was not equipped to do so.

Our defense did give up over 500 yards too.

Another first down in the second half, knocks off at least two minutes and then Clemson doesn't have enough time for that final drive.

Alabama's offense inability to stay on the field allowed Clemson's offense to run 99 plays and wear out the best defense Saban has ever had.

At times he is good. He isn’t as perfect as people think.

We also punted like 12 times in the game and had like 4 3-outs in a row or something crazy like that. The offense basically lived off of a few big plays in that game which meant the defense got no rest. They managed to get zero first downs and 3 pts off of two drives starting inside Clemson territory thanks to the defense forcing 2 TOs.

Sark called an awful game. He knew Hurts was struggling horribly (had 50 yards against UW) to throw the ball. Yet he forced him to drop back and throw almost 40 times. Meanwhile our 2 future NFL starters at RB (Harris and Jacobs) barely got any carries after Bo went down. Running more means running the clock out which means Clemson doesn’t get enough time to mount a comeback

That being said he was thrust into the role suddenly bc Kiffin bolted

He abused Downs with a three play series. It was pretty ridiculous. Sark is a mastermind and the only thing that would give Texas a chance in a rematch.

Everyone forgets this. It’s why I still think the 2016 team was the best one we ever had and Kiffin fricked us.

how does a team get to run 99 plays without a single penalty? It's pretty much impossible

You know what can negate great play calling and speed? Whipping azz up front and dominating the LOS. We can’t give Ewers all day if we see them again.

Last matchup offensively we had no identity. We didn’t commit to the run. Our O line is the biggest and the baddest in the land. We can mash anyone up front.

Let’s get through Michigan and see what happens. Hell Washington could beat Texas. They beat them last year when Penix went head to head against Ewers.

i mean i think sark is good but abusing a true freshman safety in his second game is not really that much an accomplishment

Let's not get carried away. The OL has improved a lot. But we still struggled to run the ball quite often the latter part of the season (with the exception of Milroe).

No one is running on Texas this season.

They are allowing something like 53% of opponent rush averages.

We might be able to open up a between the tackle run game if we hit them with intermediate and deep passes along with Jalen in the RPO, but I don’t believe for a second we can just line up and mash them for 4-5YPC unless it’s Jalen doing the majority of the damage.

we should be running lsu's JD offense if we end up playing them. we are great at stopping the run too and we struggled with that

Michigan also very good rush defense too. Alabama is not explosive on the ground with their tailbacks. I'm a broken record on this: Alabama will not be a dominant run team without tailbacks who have burst speed getting more snaps. McClellan just is not that guy. He's the best overall tailback but 3rd best ball carrier. Maybe he'll heal up and prove me wrong in the semifinal. If Williams wasn't a smaller guy who can just get ate up in pass pro despite his best effort, he'd probably be our best overall tailback. But he's not so McClellan ends up with the majority of the snaps despite mostly being a "put shoulder down and move pile" tailback.

We have not seen Jase in the passing game much this year either; wonder why? That was certainly one of his strengths.
