Things I think going into A&M -Milroe is better than Hurts was statistically and it’s not even close
True so far
quote:
Milroe is not making solid reads and has major trouble processing with pressure
He showed improvement but still took a few unnecessary sacks
quote:
-Our WR group is nowhere close to the Devonta Smith era, but throws are there with a 25% improvement in QB awareness
Burton and Bond were really solid today
quote:
-The OL looked better than they actually are against OM and MSU and are going to really struggle against that A&M DL which is probably the best in the nation.
Correct
quote:
-I don’t expect to see a massive change in play calling because nothing in Rees history indicates we aren’t seeing his full offense right now. This is who he is and pretending we have half a playbook we aren’t using is just people dealing with the mental grief of realizing how limited we are offensively right now.
We did run some additional RPO today but we had some solid adjustments to go pass heavy in the 3rd quarter that helped win the game.
quote:
-I think the offense is going to look really bad today because we won’t be able to consistently sustain drives by running the ball. You beat A&M by throwing downfield and while it’s possible Milroe can do that for a couple drives I don’t see how you can think that’s a recipe for success on the road against an offense that is pretty competent this year.
Milroe proved me wrong here and won a very tough road game today.
quote:
-I think this is the hardest remaining game of the season and expect a final score of something like 24-20 with the winner determined by who turns the ball over the most.
Pretty close on the score, but the difference was the Bama pass rush and Milroe throwing the ball.

Haven’t done that shite in years. My wife turned me around on that stuff.

It's fun though.
Allegedly.

Never cared for the slopes. I was more into the depressants because I'm already wound up tighter than a tick's arse. Now I'm probably dryer than a tee-totaler but just because I don't got the time for it.

I will admit that I had no confidence that Milroe could put together a game like that. Played a good game.
I'm still not completely sold. He has too many periods where he goes braindead and his pocket awareness is still suspect. He's got to be better on the chip shot throws.
But, he did look like a QB this week in a very tough environment. Not the easiest thing to do.

OL plays good and he doesn't have any problems.

You know that’s not true. Milroe bailed from clean pockets multiple times

Truth, especially the defense. I think we need to see some changes in the RB rotation and we need 77 to stay at RG in order for the offense to flourish.

Haynes and Young need some action. Roydell is a great dude but he ain’t it man. Gof5 caliber RB.
Hell maybe this group ends up as the worst 14-1 team of all time…I’ll take it.
Remember 2014 Ohio State? Lost to Va Tech at home early in the year 35-21. Everyone counted them out. Never lost again.

Today Roydell wouldn’t look great because AM makes all RB’s look bad. I think we have a nice stable of backs.

I think Roydell is a leader. I love the attitude that he brings. But i think Jam and Justice can be difference makers.

I agree. Need to keep the leaders in place though. He can block and gets tough yards. He single handily put the team on his back against USF.

Outside of the South Florida game Ive never seen much from Roydell. He’s simply not good enough to keep giving carries when you have guys like Haynes/Miller/Young.
Georgia would kill for any of those 3 RBs I listed and they’re all collecting dust on our bench. Really not a fan of Roydell’s ability.
That’s just my take on it. Feels like we could be way more dynamic in the running game if we get the younger talent involved.

Roydell would be 4th on the depth chart behind upchurch if it was 2008. It baffles me that he’s still getting carries. I’m sure he’s a great dude, but he has no burst, no wiggle, and typically goes down on first contact. We’ve had backs transfer out of the program due to lack of playing time that were better backs.
I’ve come to terms that Haynes, Miller, and Young aren’t going to get the ball. Roydell shouldn’t take touches from Jase

I specifically remember a play in todays game where Roydell got the ball to the right, it was one of the only decent holes the line created all game, and he ran past it and ran into the back of our tackle. It was Trent Richardson NFL level vision.

At least we are getting to the QB and causing turnovers

Steele was a great hire. Defense can definitely get us to Atlanta. Just need the offense to catch up.
Milroe is improving no doubt, but I think Rees had a solid game plan for him last night. OL gave great protection for the most part against maybe the best D we will see in the west. Milroe still likes to leave the pocket when he does not need to. Also, I know he can run but he looks so unsure when he does.
Throws were not perfect, but I thought Milroe is improving on his short passes.
