Can this team make a run in the postseason?
Yes - as good a postseason setup roster on paper as we've had since 2006 or 2008 (2010 was awesome but completely unexpected).
A long lineup that can get on base and pop homers, a bunch of good bullpen arms and 3-4 solid starters. It's built for 4 games in 3 days type situations. Nobody will happy to draw us in a regional.

I was critical of J Mac early in the season and questioned whether he had the stuff to be a weekend starter in the SEC but he has bounced back nicely after being relegated to midweek starter …Shame on me props to him

Same - he's been tough as nails. Props to that kid.
Be really nice if we could get Hess and Quick back at least by Hoover to get them a few innings to get back into things before the NCAAT.

If the fellas could finish over .500 in conference, that’d be an achievement

all of a sudden you start getting into outside shot at hosting a regional territory and being a #2 seed in the #15 or #16 regional at the very worst
Why do I get the vibe that the NCAA will snub Bama baseball due to the betting issue?
Even if the coach that was doing it is gone.

We're better at this point this year than Ole Miss was at this point last year.
So we're winning the whole damn thing.

Current Resume
- 35-17 (13-14)
- #12 RPI
- #13 SOS
- 17-3 Q3/4
- 18-14 Q1/2
- 11-9 road/neutral
We have played 15 games against teams #1-7 in the RPI and went 5-10 (3-3 at home, 2-7 on the road). So we are 5-10 vs the Top 7 and 30-7 vs everyone else.
It's all very nice to look at after a decade of nothing nice to look at.

Are Aggies ever not annoying? Had to turn the game off cause of the beating on the bleachers. Christ.

If we win the series against Ole Miss we finish SEC play 16-14.
That would be the first time we finished conference play > .500 since 2014 (15-14). It would be our best SEC season since 2009 (18-11).

The way Ole Miss is going I feel like anything less than a sweep would be disappointing.

They truly seem to have thrown in the towel (and they weren't very good when they were competing everyday).
So I expect we'll lose 2 of 3 next weekend

I can't help but think about what could have been. We're probably sitting 40-12 (18-9) and a lock to host a regional right now if Bohannon wasn't a scumbag. Hopefully we can sweep Ole Miss, win a few SEC tourney games, and host anyway.

Spent some time talking to Matt Reida and Jason Jackson the other night and it's really easy to see why this Alabama club is playing its tail off right now. Intense, but fantastic people.

How about @AlabamaBSB? They're 5-2 since Brad Bohannon's dismissal, and they take a road series from Texas A&M by outscoring them 23-1 in the final two games. Ultra impressive and Jacob McNairy was nails along with Andrew Pinckney today. I loved Bama's look on Friday.

McNairy’s Career Night Leads Baseball to 11-0 Shutout Win over Texas A&M
The right-hander struck out a career-high nine across 7.0 scoreless frames
After an extended rain delay to start Sunday, Alabama baseball cruised to an 11-0 shutout win over Texas A&M at Blue Bell Park. The Crimson Tide clinched the series with the victory and is now 35-17 on the season and 13-14 in Southeastern Conference play.
Jacob McNairy (6-1) was dominant on Sunday night to earn his sixth win. The right-hander tossed a career-high tying 7.0 scoreless frames, allowing six hits and a walk to go with a career-best nine punchouts. He then turned the ball over to Alton Davis II who worked the final 2.0 innings to secure the shutout.
Alabama put the game out of reach early on the power of two home runs. The first came off the bat of Andrew Pinckney in the first before a grand slam in the second from Tommy Seidl made it a 5-0 ballgame and provided McNairy with all the run support he would need. The Tide added one more run in the seventh and five in the ninth for the 11-0 win.
Seidl led the offense with a 3-for-5 night that included the grand slam, five RBI and a team-high tying two runs scored. Pinckney was close behind with three RBI as part of a 3-for-6 showing with the solo shot and one run scored.
From Interim Head Coach Jason Jackson
"I want to say a big 'thank you' to the Texas A&M grounds crew; those guys worked their tails off today to get the field ready. I'm so proud of our guys, they stayed locked in all day. We got to the ballpark at 1 p.m. today and weren't sure when we were going to be able to play. We came out and put up five runs in those first couple of innings and then obviously (Jacob McNairy) did his thing on the mound."
