Caden Rose has been assigned to the FCL Red Sox (Florida Complex League), so he might be the first of our signees to make a professional debut (minus the Frontier League guys).

Holman to LSU
I'm going to try to be better than LSU fans when their football players transfer to Bama and just say I hope the best for him except when he plays us and his ERA balloons up

Looks like we picked up Will Plattner from Ole Miss.

The Alabama baseball program received a commitment from Ole Miss transfer Will Plattner on Friday.
Plattner spent one season at Ole Miss. He made two starts as a catcher and played in seven games in total. The Illinois native amassed a .300 batting average and compiled a 1.000 fielding percentage behind the plate.
The best game that Plattner had as a freshman came against Alcorn State on April 12. He went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, four runs scored, and a walk.
In 2023, Alabama rotated at the catcher position. Mac Guscette and Dominic Tamez both started a handful of games behind the plate. In 2024, I would expect Plattner to be in the mix to play a lot at catcher. With Guscette returning, he will likely begin the season as the Crimson Tide’s backup catcher.

I am grateful for Canisius for allowing me to call Buffalo home for the last three years. The memories and friendships will last me a lifetime. With that being said, I am excited to announce I will be transferring to @AlabamaBSB for my final year!!

Awesome! LSU is poaching the top players from around the country, including ours, and we are stealing an Ole Miss washout, a DII player and a guy from a school that I sincerely doubt 75% or this board has ever even heard of.
We stacked.
We stacked.

I understand the frustration but at this point in time we are just looking for warm bodies since so many transferred/graduated/got drafted. It was always going to be tough for the new coach this summer. Give it some time.

Folks may not have heard of them but Coastal Carolina won the National Championship in 2016 (winning the LSU regional and defeating Arizona in the championship game). They won the Sunbelt this year and spent much of this past season in the top 10. They’ve certainly had more recent success than we have had….

As always, greatly appreciate when programs reach out. Thanks to @AlabamaBSB, for helping me adjust their commits (and retentions). They've now jumped up to #6 in my portal top classes.

Mikey White Added to Crimson Tide Baseball Staff in Player Development Role
White returns to his alma mater after a professional playing career followed by various coaching stints
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – University of Alabama head baseball coach Rob Vaughn officially announced the addition of Mikey White to the Crimson Tide staff on Wednesday. White returns to his alma mater to serve in a player development role.
"From the moment I took this job, I knew that I wanted people on my staff where the script 'A' was more than just a logo to them. I wanted people around this program that have a passion for The University of Alabama," said Vaughn. "We hit the jackpot with Mikey White – he's a Crimson Tide legend. We are so fortunate to bring him, his wife Lindsay, and his twin girls home to Alabama and back to Tuscaloosa."
White spent the 2023 season as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech where he served as the hitting coach while also working with infielders. His guidance at the plate led to TTU finishing second in the Ohio Valley Conference in home runs (89), total bases (887) and slugging percentage (.468). He also helped the Golden Eagles garner three all-conference accolades around the infield, highlighted by All-OVC First Team honoree John Dyer at first base.
Prior to his time in Cookeville, White worked for one season at Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville, Tenn. As Trevecca's hitting coach, the offense improved dramatically in 2022. The Trojans batted .321 that season, a marked improvement from the team's .286 average the year prior. Trevecca also set the conference records for home runs (86) and runs scored (464) under White's tutelage.
White's coaching career began at Ensworth High School in Nashville where he worked from 2020-21. He got into coaching following six seasons in the Oakland A's organization where he advanced as high as the Triple-A level. White was drafted in the second round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the A's to become just the 11th player in Alabama history to be taken in the first or second round of the draft at that time.
A staple at shortstop for the Crimson Tide from 2013-15, he started all 184 games across three seasons at the Capstone. The Birmingham native's resume included Freshman All-America, All-SEC Second Team and a pair of NCAA All-Regional Team honors. He batted .308 for his career, totaling 200-plus hits while adding 98 RBI and 132 runs scored. His most impressive season came in 2015, where he batted .339 with 19 doubles, six triples and four homers to go with 35 RBI and 48 runs on the way to his second-round selection by Oakland.
He came to UA following a decorated prep career at Spain Park High School where he was named Alabama's Gatorade Player of the Year by ESPN in addition to Mr. Baseball for the state in 2012. He was selected in the 34th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the New York Mets but elected to play collegiately for the Tide.
White graduated from UA in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in human environmental sciences following his time in pro ball. He and his wife Lindsay have twin daughters, Norah and Evie.

I’d hope most people in this thread have heard of a school that won the national championship in the last decade. We’ve also lost a regional hosted by Coastal before.
