Yeah, I'm having to keep up with it on social media, the offense went off tonight.

Still have some concerns with the pitching but they've overall been such a pleasant surprise this season.

TJ McCants Stars, No. 11 Alabama Baseball Sweeps Season Series Against Alabama State (SI)

It was a historic night for Alabama center fielder TJ McCants, who led his team to a season sweep of Alabama State.

Alabama used a huge night from TJ McCants to secure a 15-7 win over Alabama State on Tuesday evening at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex. With the victory, the ninth-ranked Crimson Tide is now 18-3 overall on the season.

McCants recorded a 4-for-4 night that included a double, three home runs, six RBI, four runs scored and one walk as he reached in all five plate appearances before being pulled from the game. The senior hit a solo homer, a two-run shot and a three-run bomb for each of his roundtrippers. McCants was joined by Gage Miller at the top of the lineup, with the Tide leadoff man going 2-for-6 with two RBI and three runs scored.

The win went to Zane Adams (2-1), who allowed one run on two hits with three strikeouts in his scheduled 3.0 innings of work.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"Our bats were okay early, but TJ kind of let us breathe a little bit. Those were some unbelievable at-bats out of him. He drove the baseball and did some big things at the plate. He contributed a bunch of RBI and added some runs up there for us, which was huge. TJ was just phenomenal and we needed that on a night like tonight, just to create a little room for us and get us going."

Love the way the team is playing! I'd love to see us get 2 of 3 in Athens this weekend. I think that is very doable based on how they pitched last weekend and how we swing the bat. Hopefully Hess can get back on track. That would go a long way toward winning this series.

Doesn’t look he’s destined to pitch

Tonight’s game has been rescheduled to a doubleheader for Saturday
quote:

The Alabama-Georgia baseball game scheduled for Friday, March 22, has been moved to Saturday as part of a doubleheader at Foley Field.

The two teams agreed on the change due to the threat of incoming inclement weather on Friday evening. Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 11 a.m. CT with game two set to start approximately 45 minutes after the final out of game one. Both contests will be nine inning affairs.

Game one of the doubleheader will remain as scheduled on SEC Network with the nightcap airing on SEC Network+. Sunday's series finale will remain as scheduled for a 12 p.m. first pitch in Athens.

Hess is struggling again bottom of one has given up a leadoff HR and the next two are on. No out with runners on first and second. We got a Solo HR in top of 1.

Just gave up a 3 run bomb. So much for Hess being our ace.

This will not be a great season if we can’t get good pitching. Hess is killing us now and with Quick out for the year we are going to have to outscore our opponents
