Hopefully we don’t send any players back to wherever the frick CP, AJ, and BG went last summer
Was summer ball even played last year? I know they cancelled the Cape Cod League.
That may have something to do our issues

Alabama Earns Multiple SEC Postseason Baseball Awards
Alabama had four players earn a combined six spots on the Southeastern Conference's postseason awards list, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Sam Praytor earned First Team All-SEC recognition at catcher, the first for UA since 2009 when Taylor Dugas (OF) was selected as a first-teamer on the league's postseason team. In addition to Praytor, Peyton Wilson was tabbed to the All-SEC Second Team for his efforts at second base.
Wilson is joined by Zane Denton on the league's Newcomer All-SEC Team, which recognizes the conference sophomores who saw their freshman season shortened due to the pandemic. Denton was also selected to the SEC All-Defensive Team for his play at third base. He was joined by pitcher Tyler Ras on the defensive squad.

I think what bothers me most about our baseball program is that this state actually produces quality players. But Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and LSU just cherry picks the best players and we are stuck with the good, but not elite players. Tanner Allen just won SEC POTY and he is from Theodore, Alabama. Justin Foscue who was drafted in the 1st round last year or two years ago is also from Alabama and chose to go to Mississippi State. Now Justin is more of an Auburn miss because his family is all barners but the point remains the same.

It's pretty tough to recruit in a sport where every other team in your league either has a better program, can offer more financial aid, or both. I mean imagine if the MLB draft didn't exist and there were no financial rules or restrictions in place for signing amateur players. You think anyone worth a shite is signing with the Pirates, Marlins, or Royals? frick no.

You're absolutely right. It feels like every year it becomes harder to compete with these programs.

Look no further than at Matt Wyatt's 40+ minute special called UNEVEN: College Baseball's Scholarship Issue posted onto YouTube. 11.7 is a bitch for schools without any additional funding available.
