Is there a realistic shot that CP comes back? I'm wondering how much his injury (which I still have questions about) hurt his draft stock.

He's just a sophomore so yea he isn't draft eligible until after next season.

Vs RPI #1-25 teams : 3-11
Vs RPI #26-100 teams : 11-4
Vs RPI #101+ teams : 15-4

We just aren't quite good enough, especially without CP and Jean on the mound, to beat really good teams. And our league is filled with really good teams

#25 RPI vs # 9 SOS is not bad with our injuries though . Wished we had a couple more Ws in midweek games as well

No, it really isn't, and the split between Top 25 and everyone else is pretty stark and pretty telling. I think it's pretty reasonable to assume if we have a healthy CP and Jean all year we win at least 2 more of those games. At that point we're 31-17 (14-12) and probably have a Top 20 RPI and are a shoe in for the NCAAT.

Frustrating to be so close, be hard to be upset when you sit back and look at the big picture of where we were, our youth and our injuries (and how good the league is).

I don't really follow college baseball like a lot of y'all do so my emotional investment is pretty minimal, but if even half the shite Goff was rumored to be trying to pull off had any truth to it Bohannon essentially walked into a bad Sunbelt program and was told to turn it into a competitive SEC program as his first career HC job. Last year was a wash, and we were apparently competitive this year even if we weren't very good. Seems like he has done a decent job to me considering what he walked into and the lack of scholarship flexibility.

Yep - you basically have it right. And we aren't bad this year, we just aren't top half of the SEC good, and we are thin at pitcher because of injuries and lack of talent and/or experience in that #5-8 group of guys. We've proven we are better than bad teams, we just aren't quite good enough to regularly compete with the really good teams.

I'd guess if we were in the ACC we'd probably be 17-13 in conference or something.

The main issue with this season has truly been the health of our starting pitchers. I mean you take the guys who were our #1 and #2 weekend starters last year, and we got hardly anything out of them. I felt like we took a step this year but had those two guys stayed healthy I think we'd have taken a leap. Damn shame, but hopefully we can put together something over the next week and at least make our way into regional play. That would be something to build on for next year.

Read on another board that Drew Williamson had surgery. Haven’t seen anything official, but if so, he’s done for the year. For those tracking the injury count, add that one to the list.

Add to this the fact that we played like half of the top 10 this year during conference play.

Granted, we laid some stinking eggs against some not so good teams too. Looking at you KY and LSU.

The other day some talking head on the Bama game said that Wilson may get drafted. And they speculated that he could play OF, 2B and C. My guestion to the ones who follow the program closely who could we be losing off this team that are major contributors.

According to the Tweeter, that was the first hit of his 14-year career.

There's nothing anyone could have said to make me feel older than knowing that Tommy Hunter has been a big leaguer for 14 years.
