Would love to see him take a few snaps.

He did late in the Georgia game. When we get more opportunities for garbage time snaps he'll probably see more carries. Right now he hasn't taken a snap with the 1s, at least not that I can think of. I think against Charleston Southern he'll get 15-20 touches.

Is Drake playing Saturday? Even if he can, should he? Like I said earlier, I really wish Saban had gotten Bo and Damien some meaningful carries these past 2 weeks.

I don't remember what Saban said about Drake, but off of the top of my head I think he said he could go Saturday. I may be wrong. I've been very forgetful lately.

I hate to see Drake's last year of eligibility go like this. First week or two it looked like he was poised for a big season, but now he's not even averaging 5 YPC and is hardly a factor in the passing game. I wouldn't mind seeing Harris or Scarbrough take over#2 RB duties in terms of carrying the ball to relieve Henry, and then still use Drake as a third down back and in the slot.

Calm down guys, we are only halfway through the season. Drake has ample opportunity to make a big impact.

There definitely won't be any mileage on the top two RBs in 2016.

I don't disagree, but I'd like to see how Harris or Bo do in that role since Drake isn't getting it done quite as well as we'd hope. I don't mean to pull Drake or anything, no matter what I still like him as a 3rd down RB and a WR. Ideally though he continues his current role and gets on track.

I agree with you on that

If Bo doesn't see any serious action this year, playing him those 3 meaningless snaps in the final minute vs Georgia was foolish, burning his red shirt opportunity. I am positive he will be part of a some game plans going forward. I mean he has to, right?

He's already 2 years removed from high school (counting this season) so he can go to the NFL after next season. I don't think a redshirt was really ever on the table with his delayed enrollment. He still has plenty of time to get some snaps. Remember, he had ACL surgery in April. I know he was cleared but still, it's only been 6 or 7 months.

I don't care if it's Drake, Bo, Harris, or even JK Scott. We need another option at RB badly. With Drake struggling a bit, I think its worth a shot to work Bo in the rotation.

Granted, I don't watch practice so my opinion is worthless.

LOL at the folks already declaring Bo ready for the NFL when he hasn't even gained a first down yet.

And I'm the biggest Bo fan in the world but when he's ready for meaningful playing time, Saban will play him.

No one is saying he is NFL ready, they are just saying , if wanted to declare he would be eligible.

You GTFO. It's what's being implied or it wouldn't even be a topic.

If you listened to Saban's press conference yesterday he addressed this and was specific to RB's without naming names.

Bo and Damien aren't producing in practice.

What is being implied that he only has to stay one more year before he can declare and if he is not happy with not getting any reps or being used he may bolt on his own. And why redshirt him knowing one good year and he may be gone the next. May as well develop him now.

It's kinda like a repeat of 2013's RB situation, IMO. We have such high expectations of our backs that the attrition from Henry's class is really killing us right now.

Drake has never been a true Saban-style back. Many of us were hoping that Kiffin would be able to use him as a weapon i.e. Reggie Bush, but that hasnt happened yet. I fully believe that was the plan last season with Yeldon and Henry as the two top tailbacks but the injury messed that all up.

Now we are back to a situation where we only have 2 trusted backs (like 2013), so the talented freshman are kinda taking their lumps in practice and on special teams.

i never want to see JK carrying the ball. If he got tackled he'd probably be split in two. If he got hit by a guy like Reuben Foster he would explode into dust.
