I left for a bit - but have stayed mainly on here or have dropped it altogether.

The SEC Rant is just TigerRant II now but much worse. Almost like a bunch of 12 year olds are running it.

Just tried to post there - it’s still awful. Now they have “other teams” joint the fray - which it is easy to see it is just the same group posting as alters of other schools. No one cares anymore.

Anyone know of another board I can switch to that has decent discussions?

Do you mean another board that has all SEC fans invited? Why? You can go over to Saturday Down South and get a cross-section of fans commenting on a bunch of SEC writers that run constant bait and hook articles. It's not near the food fight of the Rant. Over at SDS, you use to be able to actually exchange some banter with some of the guys that wrote their stuff but they were often getting as hostile as the fans. Folks are hard to regulate these days.

I like the boisterous side of the LSU fans way more than I like the pissed off, conspiracy, bitching about the refs side of the LSU fans. But yea the SEC Rant has degenerated into a hate filled crap hole. Very little legitimate discourse.

Very little good information discussed on the SEC rant because you have 14 fanbases plus Clemson fans looking to troll rival teams. It's just a troll board. Frustrating because I like good information to be discussed. Hard to find it there.

True. The frustrating thing is that with high traffic and the amount of posters that post there from each and every fan base the rant could be an epic place for serious sports discussion and banter. A clever troll always has a place on any forum but the rant is just one shitty troll after another with a minimal amount of real discussion relative to the amount of topics posted daily. Chicken is content with the troll fest because it does generate traffic so he still profits. I do feel like traffic would remain at an extremely high level if he actually cracked down on the nonsense and actually moderated the board. It's a shame.

The more sports board has a diverse fan base but has much better sports discussion and very minimal trolling compared to the SEC rant. That is actually a readable board.

I have never visited that board but I will check it out. I just assumed that if I brought predominantly SEC topics there I would be pointed toward the rant.

Yep the MSB generally will maintain a decent decorum. A few isolated trolling, but largely good.
Whereas the SEC rant OPs are either A. Look what's bad about my rival, or B. See why my team is so good.

The state of affairs among people and their social nature is highly in question. I just watched a State of the Union Address in this country end with a 70-year-old woman doing something that would have gotten my grandchildren severely disciplined. Kind of ironic and reveling we live in the communication age of social media and very few have the temperament for it.
