It’s a slippery slope but if it’s discovered that a school didn’t enforce the right protocols and/or the players were blatantly ignoring them, then there should be a forfeit.

IMO, that’s exactly what happened here.

Thats why I feel given his answer.... thats enough to show it was intentional. Doubt sankey will do anything.

So I guess we aren’t even going to try to reschedule the game? Is the SEC even entertaining that option right now?

They are, otherwise they would have announced it was cancelled instead of postponed.

They are shuffling schedules.

With the covid cases skyrocketing, the season might not last for much longer. I'd give the season 1 more month before they call it.

If Alabama doesn't make it to Atlanta, yes, we will get a chance to go to BR on the day of the SECCG and play LSU.

If there is an Alabama fan alive that would want that game, that bad, they are definitely off their meds.

Are you implying some Alabama fans would prefer to lose twice and miss the SEC Championship Game so we can play LSU instead?

If so, you would be correct. No one is that stupid.

However, I think almost all Alabama fans want this game to be rescheduled so we can beat the shite out of LSU and get revenge. I know I do.

I'm suggesting it's the only way this game would get played.
Losing this game is hurtful but we don't need it for west style points. LSU is about as football irrelevant to our success this year as they can be.

LSU doesn't want to play us. And there is no place to put them on our schedule. Sankey trying to move other SEC teams off their schedule to accommodate this game is insane. He hasn't done it for anyone else. In short, these tigers stink to high heaven. And most of these teams have their own COVID scheduling problems by now.

Except there is. Moving Arky vs LSU to 19 DEC and Bama vs UK to 12 DEC allows Bama vs LSU on 21 Nov. It removes bye advantage for Bama going into SEC CG vs, most likely, UF. And, assumes Arky and LSU have flexibility to play on 19 DeC as they are not competitive for SEC CG. Seems an easy enough move without disrupting too much.

Folks wanting the SEC to reshuffle things around and schedule this game on 11/21. What if O decides they got covid issues that week too. Then that's 3 weeks off.
I would trust Les, but not O, so I prefer this game to be cancelled and we keep it moving towards #18

He hasn't had too, all other postponed games can be played on either 12/12 or 12/19.

CBS is probably pushing to have the game rescheduled. Bama/LSU is a top 5 SEC game every year, it draws huge TV numbers. Doesn't matter if LSU is bad, will still draw high TV numbers.

Bama/LSU, Bama/Auburn, Georgia/Auburn, LSU/Florida and Georgia/Florida are the top 5 SEC games every year in terms of TV ratings.

Doesn't Florida play LSU on 12/12? If the Gators go south and lose 2 more games then maybe Sankey could see his way clear and open that date, but that is a lot of games to lose in the East division. Don't see it.

LSU @ UF on 12/12 doesn't need to be changed to accommodate rescheduling UA @ LSU on 11/21 or 12/05. All other postponed games can be on 12/12 or 12/19. It's not complex. Repost:

Best Resheduling Option:

Option-1: Move UA @ LSU to 11/21 by moving UA vs UK from 11/21 to 12/12 and LSU @ AR from 11/21 to 12/19. LSU @ UF stays on 12/12.

Option-2: Move UA @ LSU to 12/05 by moving UA @ AR from 12/05 to 12/12 and LSU vs OM from 12/05 to 12/19. LSU @ UF stays on 12/12.

Note: Option-1 is best. It keeps the UA @ LSU game next after the current prep for it. Also, Option-1's road games on 11/21 & 12/05 are much better dates for UA than Option-2's road games on 12/05 & 12/12 preceding the SEC-CG. Travel increases risk of players getting covid.

Sankey should make the schedule changes and tell LSU's AD you play or you get a $1M revenue fine for disobeying prevention protocol. Maybe a few other AD's need a $1M fine threat too.

That is a lot of moves. As an Alabama fan, I want a pound of flesh from last season too, but do I want that extra week off to scheme Floria even more at this point and rest up, and as you mentioned, another game we don't have to worry about contacting COVID in someone else's shower? In the meantime, Florida still risks injury, fatigue, less preparation time for Bama in their makeup game with LSU on 12/12.

Best to be 10-0, ranked #1 going into the SEC-CG. There's never been a bye preceding it before. It's not "a lot of moves." It's three. UA can disinfect the Tiger Stadium locker room. We'd be playing UK at BDS on 12/12. That's as safe as players getting a weekend off. Also, ALL SEC programs need as much shared TV revenue as possible.

Sankey should make the schedule changes and tell LSU's AD you play or else get a $1M revenue fine for disobeying prevention protocol. Maybe a few other AD's need a $1M fine threat too.

Reschedule the games! Next man up and play!
