Might be a long rookie season for Bryce in Carolina. Watching their preseason game right now... hasn't looked that great. Helps they're in the worst division in the league though.

Patriots just cut every QB on their roster... except for Mac.
My guess is that they sign someone like Colt McCoy as the #2.

Wonder if Kenyan Drake finds another team after getting released by the Colts - seems to have plenty of juice left in what little I saw of him in preseason.

Patriots could use Drake. They are really thin at RB too.
I really hate it for Mac. The Pats have done terrible roster management. The OL is an absolute mess...but Mac will get all the fan BS. Mac can be a really good QB, but Belichick has given him one of the worst supporting casts in the league. Similar talent wise to what Bryce has in Carolina. Meanwhile, Tua and Jalen have loaded offenses around them.

The 49s should have taken him instead of Lance. Mac and the 49s would have been much better off. He could have thrived in that system.

I believe this was the original plan. However, outside pressure forced their front office to change the plan due to the political and social realities of the time.

The 49ers should have not been jackasses and given up 3 first rounders to move up in a weak draft, stayed at twelve and took any other player with an actual proven track record other than Trey Lance. This is on a worse level than the Giants hiring Joe Judge with clearly better options out there. I will never get this. The trade was indefensible but Lance basically bombing completely San Fran just magnifies it a million times. It is amazing they were able to overcome some of these personnel/draft screw ups with the x and os and dumb luck with drafting Purdy.
