The Men are off and running, looks like it's playing tough today. No teams broke par in the morning wave.

Yup, nobody’s burning it up. Texas Tech’s Ludvig Aberg - #1 player in the country - is only -1 through nine. He shot 59 last week. Our boys are hanging tight.

Sure did. Right on the cut line. They were steady and some teams backed up. Solid day tomorrow and we should advance.

Bama golf is currently T14 and hav slipped 5 spots today, on the razor’s edge of making the Top 15 to advance to round 4. They are struggling a bit at +5 for the day. Gonna be tight.

Nick Dunlap cards a third-round total of 4-under par 66 and is in eighth overall entering the final round of stroke play

The No. 15-ranked Alabama men's golf team finished among the top-15 teams after 54-holes of action and will advance to the fourth round of play at the 2023 NCAA Championships. The Crimson Tide ended the day at 9-over par 289 which was good enough to place in 13th overall with a three-day tournament total of 21-over par 861 (290-280-289).

The 15 remaining teams will be trimmed to eight following Monday's final 18 holes of action. The top eight teams after 72 holes of stroke play will then advance to match play, which begins Tuesday morning.

Alabama Eliminated from NCAA Men’s Golf Championships, Finishes Tied for 11th Overall

Nick Dunlap and Canon Claycomb each finish among the top-25 golfers to lead the Crimson Tide

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The No. 15-ranked Alabama men's golf team was eliminated from the 2023 NCAA Championships Sunday in the fourth and final round of stroke play. The Crimson Tide ended championship play with a 72-hole total of 1,141 (290-280-289-280) to close the event tied for 11th place overall.

The Tide's 72-hole team score is the second-lowest four-round score in team history, ranking just behind the school record of 1,129 set during the 2007 NCAA Championships.

Nick Dunlap and Canon Claycomb led the Crimson Tide throughout the week, as each finished among the top-25 individuals. Dunlap tied for 11th overall with an even par 280 (74-68-66-72), with Claycomb just behind in 22nd overall at 2-over par 282 (72-70-73-67).

The eight remaining teams will begin match play quarterfinals Tuesday morning, with the semifinals taking place that same afternoon. The 2023 National Championship match will take place Wednesday morning.

Nicholas Dunlap comes from behind to win 61st Northeast Amateur

Nicholas Dunlap came from behind – carding a final round 66 – to win the 61st Northeast Amateur by two shots.

Dunlap – who played in the U.S. Open last weekend at Los Angeles Country Club – said he was not sure he would even make it to this event. He said he’s glad he did.

“Had a couple guys convinced me, you know, heard the golf course is really good, tournament was unbelievable,” he said. “It’s a marvelous place. I love northeast golf. Always have. You’ve got to be creative. And yeah, it’s a special venue.”

Alabama hired the Troy golf coach as an assistant, does anybody know if they kept Hunter Hamrick or if he got a head coaching job? I can't find it anywhere online.

Hunter Hamrick Steps Down as Alabama’s Assistant Men’s Golf Coach

Hamrick was a four-year letterwinner under Jay Seawell before spending the past two years as an assistant coach

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Hunter Hamrick, who was a four-year letterwinner under head coach Jay Seawell from 2009-12 before spending the past two years as the Alabama men's golf assistant coach, will step down from his position and pursue a new career opportunity.

"I want to thank coach Seawell for giving me the opportunity to come back to the program in which I have so much love and passion," Hamrick said. "It has been an honor and something I will always be grateful for. I have been so blessed by these student-athletes. They welcomed me with open arms two years ago, and they have been wonderful to work with every day since. Furthermore, I am proud of what all was accomplished over the last two years, and I believe the program is in a great position moving forward. I look forward to having these relationships for life. I cannot wait to follow the future success of the Alabama golf program and its student-athletes for years to come! Roll Tide!"

Seawell credits Hamrick for helping change the program culture twice – once as a player and once as a coach – and recognized him for the efforts he made to the Alabama men's golf program.

"Hunter is someone that will always be special to me," Seawell said. "When he called me and said that he was going to do something different, I understood but it was a sad day because I've known him since he was 13 years old. What I have always talked about is that he gave Alabama golf two different things. He built a great athletic career at UA in which he won several SEC Championships and was on a part of the 2012 team that finished national runners-up that really set the tone for what would be back-to-back national titles (2013 and 2014). Then, he kept that ball rolling as a coach. We were in a tough spot when we hired him, and he came in and helped recreate our culture that he helped build when he was a player. Our program is so thankful for Hunter and I wish him and Kenzie the best."

Hamrick departs after helping return the Crimson Tide program back to national prominence. The team has made big strides since he was hired after the 2020-21 season in which Alabama finished with a 64-74-2 overall record. The Tide closed the 2022-23 campaign with a record of 123-51-2 overall and an 11th-place finish at the 2023 NCAA Men's Golf National Championships.

As a player, Hamrick was voted as team captain in 2012 and helped lead that team, which included freshman Justin Thomas, to a national runner-up finish at the NCAA Men's Golf Championships. The Montgomery, Ala., native ended that season having played in all 13 events while ranking fourth on the team in scoring average (72.36) and average vs. par (+1.05). Seawell credits Hamrick for helping the team culture that put the Crimson Tide program on track to claim consecutive national championships in 2013 and 2014.
