It is hard to predict, but I think it is possible we see a mass exodus of juniors go pro this year. If u help BAMA win 3 natties then I have no problem with a guy chasing his dreams. With AJ graduating and no clear heir-apparent at QB, who knows what someone like deandrew white decides. I think nudie has his degree. At this point, either he is good enough to be a pro or he isn't. He will get invited to training camp somewhere and he will make the team or he won't ( I personally see him being on a practice squad while he learns the fb position better). These are good problems to have. We may be rebuilding (rather than reloading) next year and a few guys may decide to go pro if they think we can't win it all.
No doubt. Fowler could very well leave, I think he has a kid. They call him Twodie or something.
I don't see White leaving at all. With Norwood and Bell gone, he and Coop will be almost every down guys, and then Jones in the slot. White is crazy athletic and would do a lot for his stock to stay another year. A new QB could hinder that, but Saban knows we will HAVE to throw to win 15 games.

And when did this:
Suddenly become better than Bateman?

I don't expect a mass exodus. HaHa, Hubbard, and possibly Pagan and/or DePriest. So 2-4 total.

DePriest leaving would hurt more than people think. We've always brought back an ILB with a lot of experience under Saban. That is a crucial clog in the defense. DePriest has been passive at times, but he has the killer instinct and his football IQ will be needed next year.
HaHa, Hubbard, and even Pagan, we can live with, but DePriest would oddly be the biggest hit.

Where are you hearing that from Trey? I feel like the pay sites have been very quiet on the progression of the backups. Most of them say they only get to see the backups tossing the ball a few times (similar to what we see in pregame)

I'm not doubting you, just have never seen this come out. I guess someone you know told you? Again, I believe you, no reason not to, just haven't seen it anywhere.

Observations from a fan with no inside connections whatsoever.
I went to the Tennessee game and got to my seat early enough to watch the entire pre-game warm ups. When we had all of the quarterbacks on the field warming up by taking snaps, dropping 3 steps back, and then tossing a 20 yard pass, all of the quarterbacks had a lineman snapping to them and a receiver catching their pass except Bateman. Bateman was on the end of the line and would mime the snap, drop back, and then go through the motions of throwing the ball without letting go of it.
So unless there was something else going on, it seems to me that Bateman is dead last in our quarterback hierarchy.

Could be. Sounds consistent with what happens when someone is hurt, but all things considered you're probably right. That's odd, I personally thought he had the most upside of the Freshmen, I'm sure he'll be in the battle though.

Spring will be do or die for Bateman. Too far from home to just sit and watch for 5 years. If spring does not go well he would be a good pull for JMac at Colorado State. I suspect he would be a better fit for Coach JMac than he is for Nuss.
All just a guess, no inside info.

I had heard we really stressed camp for the QB's this summer so as not to repeat a mistake. Bateman strong armed a committable offer prior to camp last summer by threatening to commit elsewhere. No one has been happy with Bateman's accuracy and thus no QB would taken prior to camping again. Mistake would not be repeated.

I'm not sure I am buying the info on bateman's recruiting.
I trust the staff to take care of this and I'll get my nose out of the depth chart until the "administrative groupings" are released in late august.

Although he still lacks much experience, Dillon Lee is supposed to be a future super star.

meniscus surgery should not impact him for next season. its pretty minor if there was no ligament damage as well
