Plus the area we gave him, NE states and Miami(shared) wasn't exactly places a coach at Bama I'd going to have a lot of success

Yep but like I said it was known he didn't do any off campus recruiting by himsef after the Sharpiro stuff broke so I wonder what Thompson did/is involved with we don't know about to him in that same boat. Because unlike Stoutland he does make him rep as a great recruiter.

And letting Pruitt leave like he did will turn out to be a mistake. Especially the relative dud we replaced him with. Napier and Cristobal were great hires the DB coach whose name escapes me wasn't. Its almost to me based on the timing of it/the replacement coach that Pruitt going to FSU caught Saban off guard. At least Pruitt should have had the decency not to intentionally steal guys like Hump or Demarcus Walker. But then again Pruitt and his whole family have always been classless dicks.

He SHOULD have tried to steal guys. He doesn't owe us anything. Don't act like LSU fans.

No at the very least he shouldn't have jumped from one job to another and went to recruiting the exact same guys in that first cycle like Walker. That is basically not targeting your old clients when you switch firms. Not that he shouldn't but you know it would be simple business etiquette not to burn all his bridges. But I can't imagine the dirty shite he has started to put Hump in play. Granted for a mediocre player from a 3A school to a guy who was coaching high school ball 6 years ago he has a very inflated view of his self worth. There is not an ounce of loyalty or class in that whole family.

Uh, that is his job. To recruit top players, both being top players.

I'm not saying you have to like the guy but you're sounding crazy like those LSU guys. Get a grip.

Exactly. Jimbo didn't hire him NOT to use his connections from his previous job.

Didn't Pruitt want a higher position other than assistant DB coach? Really not tripping. Would hurt to see Marlon beasting at FSU but with all the young guys we have we will be ok.

I wonder if Fournette actually wants to be handed the starting job at LSU. I say this because it's pretty much a given they are going to hand it to him. He'd have to earn his spot here.

I mean, with all the LSU fans talking about his character and how there is no way he'd turn on LSU after all the effort they put into him, you'd think he doesn't want to be handed anything.

Christian Miller quotes:

quote:

“They kind of lack a pass rush right now, which I guess is good for me. They have some interior guys who can get back there. In terms of on the edge, that’s what the coaches keep saying- that they don’t have a dominant pass rusher yet.”

Miller maintains his commitment to the Crimson Tide despite overtures from Georgia and a brief visit to Athens earlier in the fall.

“It’s still the same- solid with Alabama. I still hear from Georgia. I don’t really like to do this whole recruiting thing. When the coaches need to contact me they contact me, but I’m really just coming out and going to school.”

quote:

On the season, Miller has 111 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, 2 blocked kicks, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 touchdown. He has a grade of 98 from 247Sports and ranks as the no. 28 prospect overall and no. 2 outside linebacker.

It really would be exciting to see a saban defense with "the guy" rushing the passer.

I don't think we'll see that, just isn't how the scheme works.

I was saying this pages ago. Nothing has stated he would flip. He visits a school for a big game a couple hours away and people start spinning lies.

Unless we don't want him (or really drop the ball) I don't see him changing his mind.

I think it will really help to have a dominant edge rusher. We really are not a blitzing team. If a guy like miller can help get consistent pressure and we are still dropping seven...

It's not really him I'm worried about so much as his mom. His mom wants him to be closer to home. She has also never been to Tuscaloosa. When the interviewer asked Miller if his mom was coming for the LSU game, he basically said "that is up to her" So as of right now, if she doesn't make it to campus, I will hold his commitment loosely. Not everyone is Landon Collins.

From Charles Power on Miller:

quote:

No, Miller doesn't plan to EE. He actually would prefer to redshirt his first year to get bigger and more ready to contribute.

Kinda sucks to think that we may not even get one of them.

But having both in the secondary would be nice.

I really do like Roberts too. I know Tabor is rated higher, and maybe more athletic depending on which analyst you ask , but Roberts is a home grown kid who plays a position of need. We accepted his commitment back in April before he "blew" up so to speak so our staff must really like him as well.

Rashaan Evans news:

quote:

“Right now I have the same top four,” said the four-star linebacker. “Georgia, UCLA, Auburn and Alabama. I’ve got another one with Tennessee. I’m supposed to be going up there to look at them and just see what the coaches have to say.”

quote:

“All of the schools are pretty much even and all of them have shown me a lot of love,” Evans said. “I’m definitely excited about going up to T-Town and getting with those coaches again. Pretty much, it’s going to be a hard decision.”

Evans may be close to making a decision, but he says that his commitment could come as late as the Under Armour All-American game in St. Petersburg, Fla., on January 2.

quote:

“Hopefully I can get it before the year is over with but if I have to push it back to the (Under Armour All-American game), I will,” Evans said. “I’m just taking it slow.”
