That is strange. Different ways to take that for sure:

-does that speak to our staff's confidence on landing Hootie/Hampton?

-Or does it speak to them losing confidence in keeping Roberts/ getting Humphrey?

Yep, so we can tell CJ Hampton he's the only FS we're taking in this class.

It's only been a few months since they told Williams he was their top guy at FS, now he's a CB recruit.

I don't think it means that much, maybe a better sell with Hampton. More so, I think it has to do with him finding a position after not really being a defensive player before this year.

Off topic but a couple years back, when UT signed McCullers, who did we sign instead of him?

Pretty sure it was Alphonse Taylor. Recruited him as a NG and then moved him to OG after just a few practices.

We just offered 2014 WR Josh Malone from Tennessee. I guess our staff felt that Dixon was going to Miami and Hall is gonna stick with Baylor.

Malone has already taken two of his OVs so we'll see what happens regarding his last three visits.

Da'Shawn Hand just tweeted Roll Tide, with a lot more O's, I's, and exclamation points.

A buddy of mine was telling me about someone saying we may get a surprise commitment this weekend, but he didn't have an idea of who it might be. You guys heard of anyone that would fit this "surprise" description?

FWIW, USC's top 3 targets for head coach are Chris Petersen, Kevin Sumlin, and James Franklin. No Saban. We all know he's headed to Texas anyway.

The Saban to anywhere stuff, but Texas in particular is so laughable to me. He could have had that job twice if he wanted it. He clearly doesn't, but to see other fans talk about it (pray about it, more like it) as if it is likely is just hilarious. It is obvious they'd given up on hope of beating him so now they just hope he moves on. They don't admit it openly, but it is obvious in their posting.

As for USC, I'd bet $50 that they won't hire any of those guys. I could see franklin maybe, but not the other two.

He's been on a football field for about a month total this year.

He couldn't participate in Spring with a knee injury, and hasn't played a snap yet this season with a jarred neck from around fall practice.

That's the one caveat Bone put in there if Shaw doesn't commit. If his neck is too big of a problem, no team will take his commitment.

I thought Bone 's response to the question about Pettway was strange

Not sure how to take it.

Maybe it's legit, but he knows it's not worth the outrage it will cause on the board/media? Or maybe he rather not get into addressing the rumor for that same reason.

You address it, you're bringing some level of legitimacy to it...

In short, he won't touch a DJ Pettway question with a ten foot pole.

DJ was the one of the four I was most upset at losing (mainly because BC called himself "honey bear" and smoked like a pimp named honey bear; EW was going to be a hella tall db; and offsides is offsides).
