Also from a recruiting standpoint replacing Groh Pruitt and Stoutland with the three guys we did has created weak links in our recruiting staff.
Who? MC?

Napier is one of the best recruiters in the country

I was making no judgement on them. Just listing the names he was asking about.

Being from Dekalb County I know that better than anyone that whole family is.
Also did we let Stoutland recruit after we found out he was the Miami Trooper?

Honestly, I'm not sure what you expect. We were already loaded at WR, which is his (Napier's) position, and he is picking up new territories on the trails.
As far as Brown, we are seeing some development out of our young DB's (especially Sylve), which is what his primary purpose was going to be anyway. He has the reputation of being a good recruiter, but we need him for on-the-field stuff first and foremost.

i dont know where this 'we are not taking luatua or mama' bullshite is coming from. there sure is alot of stupidity on here lately. im 100% sure if luatua or mama wanted to commit, they could. as could robinson, elam, humphrey, ronnie clarke, hootie jones, etc.. just like every year, some of these 3 stars know they might end up with greyshirt instead. and just like every year we will lose a commit or 2 to some other school, and not everybody we have is going to qualify. How is it that 6 years in and 3 championships in we still have dumbass fans who think they know what the team needs are more than the staff?

For us to still be in on a lot of the prospects in Groh's old territory speaks to Napier's ability to hit the ground running in recruiting.
On the subject of Greg Brown- he knows how to coach defensive backs, which is more than can be said for his predecessor. If he only serves as an assistant to Nussmeier on the West Coast recruiting trails, why complain?

Not that this class is bad by any means but like Sand said it reminds me a lot of 2010. Other than Milliner and CJ that class has been a whole lot of nothing even Hubbard hasn't lived up to his potential yet.

2010 gets a bad rap, but that class will have a huge imprint on this season one way or another...
CJ/Hubbard/Fulton/Arie K/Vogler/Nudie/D White/Perry/Ivory/Shepherd/Jarrick/Cade Foster
All 12 of those guys should be major contributors this season. Guys like Nudie, White, and Jarrick would have been major contributors last year if not for the injuries they sustained. Menzie was also a 2010 guy and he did OK.
I think 2010 gets a bad rap because of the high profile transfers (P Sims, C Grant, P Smith) and the huge non-qualifier (A Hill). But overall, I think it was still a pretty good class, even with the attrition.

This. Guy is relentless. Give him time and he'll kill it. As for the "not coming through in this class" argument, this class isn't over and he helps recruit a ton of the big commits on a support role (Cornwell and Miller come to mind). Additionally, if Bama gets Cam Robinson, Napier will be a big reason.
