Paige still counts against the 25 NLI limit but Bozeman might not meaning we could possibly sign 26 in '14
I thought Bozeman would count because he is on scholarship (had to signed his NLI at some point) and showed up for camp?
I think we need decommitments like with Artie last year. Get weaker to get stronger. If not, I really really hope the staff pushes Holcombe to take that Bear Bryant scholly... but I don't see that being reality.

I think that we will have more spots than people think. You can tell that Roberts will eventually flip IMO. Also we have two d line guys that have grade issues. OJ Smith and J. Dwight. Never know whats going to happened with Viane.

No one has to sign an NLI. He might've just signed FAA but no NLI in which case he wouldn't count against the NLI limit. But he may have signed both.

In short, I wish the kicker, Holcombe and McBride (maybe some others!) would all decommit.
holcombe is fast and athletic as frick and is just the sort of player we need to help stop the HUNH spread shite. dude is a LB/Safety hybrid. im guessing he was a pretty decent priority if we bothered to flip him in the first place. even with all the talent in this class, its a needs filling class
i agree about the kicker. mcbride im fine with. guy looks beastly, was apparently beastly at camps, and is versatile

Holcombe and McBride are legit SEC players.
I agree about the kicker though. Unless the guy is an absolute can't miss prospect, using a scholarship on a specialist is a complete waste, and as good as they are everywhere else, our staff has proven to be horribly inept at evaluating kickers and punters.

Yea I understand the kicker but Holcombe and McBride are legit frick ratings. Im happy with all of the guys that we have. I dont think any are bad players. Its just that we have soo many good players available. Ill be pissed if we dont have room for D. Hall. Id have him over Ronnie Clark. Doubt he ever plays safety for us. We have plenty of LBs.

i hope roberts stays, but if not we can probably swing tabor. he seems pretty high on us and is a better prospect anyway. i think if we get Luatua, we also get mama and we keep viane. hopefully we can start a little polyneisan colony in the deep south

I like Roberts but it just seems that he wants to be at Auburn. Saw a article of him talking up Auburn on bleacherreport. Really think he will be good but he is replaceable though. I like the kid from Texas, I think his name is Nick Watkins. Maybe we wont replace him if Saban is happy with the 4 we just got on campus.

In 2011 we signed and brought in 23 players counting A Douglas. D Carter enrolled but did not sign but even if you count him against the class we brought in 23 for the 2011 class. W Love and R Carswell were grayshirted and back counted to the 2010 class since that class only had 23 towards it. Originally 26 were signed in 2010 but RC and WL grayshirted and A Hill ended up not counting based on the old rules. Just like when grayshirts signed an NLI still.
In 2012 the new SEC rules kicked in. We brought in 26 but the new rules still allowed back counting for EE's as long as there was room. So we could back count 2 EE's to the 2011 class. For sake of argument Cooper and Black. So now we actually only have 24 incoming to count against the 2012 class. B Hill falls victim to the new SEC rules. Now when a player signs they count even if they do not qualify. It used to be they had to enroll to count now it is when they sign the NLI.
2013 class saw 25 sign with UA. But remember because of the new SEC rules Hill counted against the 12 class and when he joined UA as an EE was back counted against the 12 class. Even with Hill counted in the 2012 class they would allow one of the 2013 class as well to be back counted along with Hill. So for sake of argument we will say Henry was back counted to 2012 with Hill. So the 2013 class in the spring only had 23 signed that counted against it. Meaning Bozeman who is an initial counter will go towards the 2013 class since we have room to back count to it. It also means that someone in the 2014 class who is an EE can also be back counted to the 2013 class as well.
So in short if I am right and I am basing it off the articles written in the last few years and info available we should be able to add 8 more to the 2014 class if everyone signs. But we may also be able to add 9 more because I do not believe D Carter ever signed an NLI and since he never qualified was never a counter.
I hope that all make sense and yes we should end up with a great class.

hey fellas, this is kind of stolen from the lsu RB but who would yall rank as your top 3 recruits (committed and uncommitted). Not really by who the best players but who are the most wanted or important to Alabama and their future success.

1. Robinson. Need to lock down the LT for 3 more years
2. Humphries. Same thing at corner
3. Elam. NG prospects with his potential are rare, especially coming out of high school. we normally have to get a JUCO to come in for 2 years

Humphrey
Carter or Hand
Cam
Cornwell would be in there without the Town commitment.

~15-20%
If I had to put a number on it. He really likes Michigan but can be swayed. Our engineering dean could help us out. He's got an infectious personality and always tours with Saban on the crimson caravan. He's a huge football guy and has spoken with hand, who is interested in engineering

his recruitment as been surprisingly quiet for such a highly ranked guy

He is atypical from most recruits these days.

How many times you gonna call this kid the wrong name?
He's a Bama legacy bro. No excuses for that.
