This still hasn't been addressed by BOL staff BTW. Maybe TI jumped the gun and he just got offered?

I goofed, Keaton Anderson in '15 is the instate LB who is compared to Sunseri. Guess all these white LBs look alike to me

And I can almost see that 1st practice report already, it marks a glorious time

At least he is a 4-star. Doesn't hurt our star average.

His film reminds me of Bobby Boucher from The Waterboy. I think we may have a new nickname!!!

One thing I can't screw up, as his name is in the quote. From when he camped a while back:

quote:

Kirby Smart singled Holcombe out to the rest of the defensive campers yesterday. Smart yelled out, "This is Keith Holcombe. He's fast as lightning."

Did he get offered then? Like Trey, I didn't even know who the hell he was 20 minutes ago and it's my damn recruiting thread.

His dad played for Coach Bryant, so that may be something to keep in mind.

If my understanding of the signing limits is correct, it wouldn't have because BB was going to backcount to '13 even if he didn't enroll til January.

Doubtful. We lost a member of our 85 scholarship players. That is how Bozeman got in. However, we don't know who we lost yet.

Bryant Scholarship? frick right!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Bryant Scholarship doesn't count against the 85 right?

I agree!!

Holcombe seems to play with a high motor, which would be good for special teams at the very least. The only negative for me from his highlight film is that he lunges alot instead of "running" thru the ball carrier, which I'm sure Saban & Company will correct. Pretty good in-state pick up in my opinion. I wonder if his offer is a "greyshirt" type of deal?

According to UA, if the player in question is a walk-on football player who was not recruited by UA's coaches, that player will never count against Alabama's scholarship numbers, even if he plays in every game for all four years.

If the player was a recruited walk-on, a student-athlete who was recruited by Alabama's coaches and who receives the Bryant Scholarship, that player does not count against Alabama's scholarship numbers until he sees playing time.

The NCAA makes the determination of whether or not a player should be considered "recruited", and each individual player is judged on a case-by-case basis.

ETA: This quote is from anarticle in '08, so things could have changed

Correct but can't play in a game for first 2 years

ETA: I thought it was 2 years but Mag's explanation is probably correct
