He apparently said he would have a new top 5 after leaving Tuscaloosa, so I'm guessing we recently extended a firm offer and will know where we stand after his visit.

He said he knew of at least 3 (Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia) of the Top 5. He said in an article for BOL that we are recruiting him as a Jack LBer and that Kirby is who he speaks to the most.

Anyone know who is at the #1 spot on our safety board?

Ronnie Clark
Hootie Jones
CJ Hampton
Davion Hall (WR too)
Juju Smith

Thoughts or insights?

Free story from Al.com on Rashaan Evans:

LINK

Quotes:

quote:

"Alabama, Auburn and Georgia are his top three right now with UCLA and Tennessee rounding out his top five," said Evans' father, former Auburn running back Alan Evans. "He will definitely be taking official visits to those top three and possibly UCLA and Tennessee as well."

quote:

"Rashaan and Reuben Foster talk periodically and they have a very good relationship," Alan said. "Reuben is really excited about showing him around Tuscaloosa and I'm sure he'll continue to try and talk Rashaan in to joining him at Alabama. I'm not sure what kind of factor that will be to Rashaan but it's always good to have a friend around."

quote:

"Coach Trent Dilfer who ran the event told us that Rashaan stood out as one of the best outside linebackers there, and that's saying something because there was some incredible talent at that event," Alan said.

The comment section is pretty good too.

I haven't seen it here yet, but Connor Brewer (former Texas QB) has committed to Arizona.

Doesn't seem like he fits in Shredders system.

Still not official, but a good sign. The NCAA is still arbitrary and no one should be surprised if they send him the juco route.

We can't pay for their travel expenses even after they sign a LOI? You'd think the REC could at least pony up the cash to get him a direct from Pittsburgh to Birmingham.

From Charles Power:

quote:

Saw Evans at The Opening and at the Atlanta NFTC earlier in the year and he was very impressive both times. He's an outstanding athlete and on the hoof type but also a good player and moved well in space in the 7-on-7 setting. Numbers are starting to get a little tight, but Evans is one that UA has turned up the heat on and is after.

He also said that BOL will be talking to Evans tonight after his visit and will have an update on how it went.

Stanford has offered 5-star QB and UA target Ricky Town today per 247Sports national analyst Barton Simmons. This is on the heels of Town's performance at Stanford's camp this weekend. Town told us yesterday that the Cardinal informed him that he's their top 2015 QB and they didn't waste a lot of time getting the offer out to him. I still feel good about UA's chances here.

There was some talk that 5-star CB Marlon Humphrey would visit Michigan while in the area for a track meet this week with his family. Marlon isn't participating in the meet in order to rest up for football and they did walk around Michigan's campus yesterday but haven't talked with any of Michigan's coaches.

What's all this shite about, Trey?
