If Bealoved is not cleared for LSU this year, then it likely impacts her brother as well. We are hearing that Tony will likely not go to LSU if he sister does not end up there in the fall. There are some reasons for this that we cannot get into right now.
I really hope she doesn't. We wouldn't have to wait till February to bump that stupid circle-jerk thread about all their 100% locks that they made the other day.

Thought this was kinda funny, interesting, and a touch of sadness:

Ricky Town quotes:

quote:
“Stanford was cool. I really enjoyed it,” said Town. “This was the first time I got to throw in front of Coach Shaw. That was fun- just to get an opportunity to do that was awesome. They said that they are very interested in me and that I’m their top 2015 guy.”
quote:
“As far as colleges, I’m probably going to try to get to a lot of games this year. I want to check out the feeling of each college and their atmosphere on gameday. I’m definitely going to try to get to (Arkansas at Alabama). I’ve never been to a game there, but I’ve heard they’re fun, so I’m looking forward to seeing that atmosphere.
quote:
“I don’t really have a list right now. I’m still considering everything and I really don’t know when I’m going to make a decision.
quote:
When asked which team is recruiting him the hardest, Town singled out Alabama and offensive coordinator, Doug Nussmeier.
“Alabama is after me a lot. I talk to Coach Nuss a lot. They’re probably the biggest one right now. They say they’re still interested in me and want to make me part of the Crimson Tide.”

The more I hear, read, and watch on Rashaan Evans, the more I want him.
Highlights
This kid can fly. He ran a 4.51 at the Opening at 6'3" 217 pounds.
I know he is an Auburn legacy, but from what I have read he wants to get away from Auburn. He is visiting us this weekend.

Same here. I hope yall don't get him.

I am pretty sure he hasn't closed the door on Auburn because of location. He just wants to leave the nest. which is understandable, I did the same thing. He just wants to make sure he sees all his options outside of Auburn. I think we are his fall back if he doesn't like what he sees

I know he likes Georgia, but he is visiting Tuscaloosa this weekend and claims we are recruiting him hard. I guess we'll see.

He was my favorite instate LB from the start, partially because ILBs are easier to get/find than 34 OLB of the hybrid variety.
Circumstances didn't match-up though, as he was largely ignored by the staff earlier in the year, and is of course an "Auburn legacy". With Miller in the fold, it would seem odd to pick on up Evans now, with Carter still out there and very much in play.
They've told Carter, Miller, and Evans they were recruiting them for SAM, as they have a balance of passrush and coverage ability. Clearly seems to overtaken JACK this year(stop the presses)in terms of pitching a position. It could be that SAM is permanently taking over the JACK, and they are looking for more rush/coverage guys than thicker runstoppers of days past.
I would be happy with any combo, though it would be nice to get that top rusher once. Especially one that wants to play DE/OLB...

Evans is a stud and attacks the ball.... Quick questions. W
Would his recruitment play a negative roll in Lorenzo's recruitment? and does he have the "hips" to play safety? For some reason I think he could intimidate the hell out of some receivers and tight ends.

C.J. Hampton will make an official visit to Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Stanford, and Miami this fall.

I just watched Evans' and Miller's film back to back, and I must say that Evans is the better player IMO. He's faster and it is noticeable. He already has nice bulk with the frame to get bigger, but then again Miller does too.
I'm starting to doubt our staff's logic in taking Miller over Evans and I hate doing that.

I don't think he would affect Carter at all. Supposedly Evans did extremely well at the Opening dropping back into coverage, but I wouldn't move him. He would be a beast at 240 pounds if he maintained his speed. He's a violent hitter.

Were there not grade concerns with Evans? Am I misremembering?

I know, I know. I don't like thinking I know more than the millionaires with championship rings. It's stupid. But just do what I did and watch their film back to back. If Miller is the better prospect then fine. I just don't see it.
Don't get me wrong, I would be happy with either. Just based on what I have watched, Evans seems to be the better player.

I understand. I'm absolute stickler for keeping in-state kids home. But I'm just keeping my mouth shut. I don't know jack shite when it comes to real evaluations.

Maybe they haven't evaluated Evans in a live setting yet, whereas they have with Miller. I hope Evans blows them away this weekend and we really turn up the heat.
And no 5555 post?

To be fair, Evans is more physically developed at this point. Miller is skin and bones.
I like the direction the staff is going with OLB recruiting. We needed to start going after guys in the 6'3"-6'5" 210-230 range and have Cochran put 30 pounds of good weight on them so they don't lose much in terms of athleticism. 6'4" 255 is pretty ideal size for a 3-4 OLB.

If anything, UGA is already pitching to Carter that Bama has Miller now.
Biggest thing when it comes to thinner LBs, is can they build onto their frames fast enough to hold off future players? Can they put on 20-30 pounds the right way before someone already that size comes in?
For example, Mekhi Brown is 15 pounds heavier than Evans and Miller and is a year younger. When he comes in, he's already closer to starting size. Can they get a comfortable enough lead outside of just being in the defense?

Serious question here, why would they wait on Evans and possibly lose Miller to GA? Even if Evans is the better prospect, he wasn't paying us much attention, even after he visited Bama for camp. The coaches gave him a reason on why they weren't in contact with him as much as he would like (he didn't say why in the interview)but he had a great camp. Almost immediately after that camp, he had a top 5 or 6 and Bama was nowhere to be found. He has great talent, but he's just not one of those kids to wait on and possibly lose another top talent over, Just saying. (
