Been saying this for months. If he was such an LSU lock he would have committed long ago.

We may have a shot but I don't think 50/50 is going to be enough in this case. He's a special enough talent so we're going to stay after him to the end, but he's LSU's to lose IMO

10-11 days left before we find out who our QB will be for this class.

Agreed and I think this approach is all due to Saban's confidence in Burns and he's why we are still a major contender and likely landing destination

What's going to really be interesting is to see how both teams seasons affect the recruitment

Fournette is Reuben Randle 2.0 IMO. He's going to flirt with us until January, but he's not getting out of Louisiana. Especially if Hill is done.

A situation I'm wondering that could possibly play out, and I'm not playing favorites for either, is:

Brandon Harris outperforms every QB at the camp, though Cornwell does well.

Do you pursue on for Harris, knowing he outperformed everyone, or do you take Cornwell and be done with it?

Cornwell has long been considered the favorite and one of the top QBs, but Harris has caught fire and has yet to extinguish. There's a college coach who adamantly believes Harris has the strongest arm in the country. The way sectionalize the QB camp should avoid fluke performances.

Again, not really a "who is your favorite" situation. It's kinda like Kiel-Winston, but they never competed directly against each other and Bama seems to have a better shot with Cornwell than they had with Winston.

Something I've come to learn the last 2 recruiting cycles is that we'll go after the top guy on our board until it's apparent we're out of it even if it means potentially costing us with the next guy on our board. So in that scenario, I think we'd go after Harris.

Well Harris has grade issues, whereas Cornwell is an EE. I'd take the Pro-Style early enrollee every day of the week over the dual threat guy with questions regarding his academics.

Besides, Harris needs work on his mechanics and Cornwell doesn't.

And Cornwell's arm is stronger.

Yeah. I would really like to see him go head to head with Keller Chryst in a camp setting though. Would be interesting to see who had the better performance in a similar situation.

That's kind of why I'd rather go with Cornwell unless Harris is significantly better. Cornwell is more polished, and thus more college ready. Given the lack of clarity at the QB position past McCarron, we may not be able to afford taking on a project with a high ceiling.

Fourenette graduates early right? If so im cool with how they are doing Roc. Well not cool but I think that will give us time to try and jump back on him if LF doesnt come here.

i would rather see cornwell. hes big, strong, mobile for his size, has a great arm and is accurate while throwing on the run. other than not having alot of experience taking snaps under center he is ideal for what we do. he is no burner, but his running ability and mobility is pretty impressive for such a big guy. his mechanics are already flawless.
