I wonder at what point they cap enrollment and start getting more selective?

Enrollment has been basically capped for five years now. It peaked in 2017 due to better retention. We're actually about 900 less students than that peak now.

Hooligans closed their downtown restaurant yesterday too, apparently. Can't count the number of meals I ate in that place on weeknights or Sunday after church.

Summers the last couple years of undergrad were the best. Everyone your age was there but none of the freshmen, less people around, pool, golf, etc. You knew everyone at bars and it was way more relaxed. Then as Summer 2 wound down football stuff started and band parties got revved up.

Miss that stuff.

You were right. This article need it's own thread, and not just get lost in the mega thread.

The Athletic has gotta be the best sports journalism out there. The info about Shack was very enlightening. I'm still gonna bitch if he attempts a 180 behind the back toss in a 3on1 transition. But the guy has made huge strides, and is still only a sophomore. But hearing about him buying in, and working on the "blue collar" aspects to his overall game, is very encouraging.

But the million dollar question remains... What do we do first, fix the arena or get Oats his harem of concubines. I mean, we can't expect a man of Oats' stature to feed himself grapes.

Nice. I remember there being chatter of the admins wanting to get up to 50k students... glad to hear that isn't happening.

They're just moving it to a higher traffic area.

Not the same, though.

The summer between my junior and senior year I got to know everyone at the Houndstooth way too well. I was done with class at noon and usually got lunch at either Bear Trap or Phils and had a few pitchers then we would head over to Ol Colony and cap off the night back on the strip.

Yeah, that would be dumb. The state is too small, and growing too large could have major negative effects on the student quality. Because it's the growth of out of state students that's allowed the current growth to occur.

Tuscaloosa is too small for 50,000 students. The housing crunch would be unreal. I honestly don't know how massive schools like aTm and Florida that are also in small-ish cities manage to do it.

To get back to talking about the actual article: who is this mystery recruit that we backed off of in the 2020 class because his attitude sucks? I know we were pretty hard after Alex Fudge for a while until we weren't, and Will "Mark" Wadefried definitely isn't afraid to sign lazy, softer than a baby's butt losers. See: Watford, Trendon.

I say the same thing every time I go back. Graduated in 2004. How in the hell do these folks afford all the expensive condos? I lived at Collegiate Downs right behind the cemetery on 10th ave and 12th st and it is amazingly still there.

My question is: Is Shackelford really 6'3"? Seems like he's closer to 6'0".

You trust media guide measurements? He's probably like 6'1.5"-2", he could be shorter.
