Ok guys, I give up. You're right. Mo is basically irreplaceable. If we wanted another smallish, fairly athletic 4, with mediocre handles and an ok set shot from 3, that plays hard, is a good, but not elite, defender, and a good rebounder, for his size, we could never get one. Oats is probably crying in his Wheaties this morning, wishing he could have given Mo a couple of million dollars to come off the bench for 15 minutes a game next year. I won't be surprised if Oats tries to follow Mo to his new team
We get it…you hate Mo, think Oats was stupid for trying to pay up the 2 times he did to keep him, and whoever is getting him is a moron of a coach that is way overpaying for a “college effort” guy and should be fired immediately for that decision. You’re right, he’s exactly as you described, essentially a slightly smaller version of James Rojas and has absolutely no future in basketball. Oats should have forced him out instead of giving him multiple raises to try and keep him before finally saying no mas. Can’t believe Oats was doing that for such a bad player, we should fire him.

So Aden, Sherrell, Mallette, and Wrightsell are back. That’s a solid group.

Yes, yes. Every time I said I like him, was just covering up my hatred for him. My rational take on his abilities was meant to throw you off the trail.

Mo is a good college basketball player with a chance to be an all-conference player next year or a 4th year if he sticks around. On top of that, he's usually just a fun player to watch play.
He is not a player worth blowing up your NIL budget on if he's dead set on a number that is well above your valuation of him (which is what it sounds like was the issue). It stinks, because he was a solid piece of what we had and we all liked him, but it's the way things work in 2025 in college basketball. You have a year to year budget and you have to put together the best 12 man roster based on how your play and those guys skills/experience as you can. And Mo isn't in a spot where he can command the $ that he apparently wanted on this roster.
I hope he gets it elsewhere and kills it. Or he doesn't get it and ends up back here (guessing that doesn't happen).

Might want to check your sarcasm detector. The people claiming he was as good as Herb were overstating it, but you essentially described him as Rojas or at best Gary. That wasn’t rational or accurate.
The answer is somewhere in between, which is exactly what I said and how Oats and his new coach are treating him.

To be fair statistically he's much closer to Gary's career trajectory than Herb's. I don't know why people are taking that as some kind of knock on the guy.

This is a rational and accurate take.
The only thing I would add is that our valuation of him is highly dependent on our budget (and other pieces). It doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t worth what he’s asking, it may just not be something we can do.

Yep - his worth to us is going to be different than other teams who aren't as talented or have a different scheme. Part of the whole deal these days.

Not sure that’s true on a per 40 min basis adjusted for both being sophomores, especially looking at efficiency numbers and ability to create. Gary never had an “off road package” for him, and he played on a much worse team with less creators around him.

There comes George being all
Teague and braves guy, why does Mo have to be like anybody, why can’t he just be Mo.

I would encourage those of you (besides the two dumbass shite stirrers) to read what I have actually written about Mo, and don't assume the people arguing with me can read. I've pretty much said the same thing that others have said and you all agreed with. I like Mo. He's a solid role player. He really doesn't fit our scheme well enough to justify paying him. He's not an NBA talent, but he can help a lot of college teams. Bama can find a guy that fits better.
The end.

Tipton put in a prediction for Bethea to Bama. He commits tomorrow at 1.

Most will probably assume UNC since he is from chapel hill, but him entering with a do not contact tag kind of screams tampering- and one of the sleaziest coaches in the country just got a job in Raleigh. Don't be surprised if he ends up at NC State.
All that to say, and I don't know if this is the case, but hypothetically if we could only keep one of Reid or Stephenson, I'm taking Reid 100/100 times
