If Reese is in better shape I expect a great year from him. He has got a real nice shot.

Reese was in shape....

Lewis wont start right away.

Butler career may be over.. we won't hear anything for a while.

I expect Avery to find his rotation in early game.

When? Back in HS?

It would be shocking if that playing weight/body composition is the staffs long term goal for Reese

Does everyone think Kira for sure starts?
I think he does.

Really Hard for me to see him starting, especially at the beginning of the year. I mean, who are you telling to ride pine at tipoff exactly? Ingram, Petty, Mack or tVolkswagon

That said, I 100% could see a fulfilling a recruiting promise to start him being the situation. Interesting dynamic but could be the case

I would imagine he still gets 25+m off the bench though so he effectively is a "starter"

He will start imo. He is better than Ingram and it's not close imo. Until Ingram gets aggressive and is willing to shoot the ball i honestly think he should come off the bench jmo. Petty has issues handling the ball. So to answer your question. Ingram would come off the bench.

Ingram just frustrates me he could average 15 a game just by driving to the hole but he is so conservative.

Not one of those guys is a real PG. Ingram could handle it in stretches, but he's a bigger turnover liability than Kira and that's the main reservation coaches have of playing freshman PGs. Ingram may start off the year starting at the PG position, but it's not hard to see a top 50 PG starting on a team without a good one.

I agree that we still dont have a real point guard. That is one thing that is surprising about Avery because that is the one position that you would have thought he would have good players.

I have a stupid question.

How do kids "reclassify" and start a year early? I mean, obviously he didn't graduate last spring, so how can he skip a year now?

I think both Lewis and Butler are real PGs, as was Sexton. Unfortunately, both of the 2 we have are freshmen (one of which may not be able to play basketball again) and the other guy just went in the top 10 of the draft as a freshman.

It came through his Mom's Facebook account. Sounds like his mom aggressively pushed him to Mississippi State. Seems like the rumors of him being for sale might have been true as parents are often the beneficiary of pay for play scandals. Wouldn't be surprised if we were his school of choice, but if his family already touched the money Avery may not want to play that game.

I don't see Dazon dropping to the bench. I think it's probably more likely to see Petty on the bench than Dazon.

Just seems like how our fans rate Dazon doesn't really match up with how Avery does. At least it hasn't so far. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he was the second name in the starting five at this point (behind Donta).
