I thought Holloway played well and I’ve been critical somewhat of him in the past but he definitely got tired in the last 10 minutes. I was slightly ok with him fouling out. He was exhausted. He made some shots in the last 10 minutes but no jumpers. Legs were gone.missed his last 6 shots that weren’t drives/layups.

Whoever said he looks bigger was correct.

but there will be games that if coach doesn’t bench him, we have zero shot to win. Hope Oats realizes it’s one of those games early enough when needed.

You are dumb.

He literally has to have an awesome game offensively to even be a net add. If he’s even just above average on offense, he is a net negative due to being bottom rung on everything else.

Very dumb.

He fouled out and was completely overmatched against bigger players as has been typical against top teams

He was cooking them on offense. He was playing better than Philon. Every team in the country would love to have that dude as their backup PG and your dumbass is out here calling him unplayable. Stfu

I had a sneaking suspicion that game was going to be close. FSU was playing faster than us in that exhibition which was wild.

Oats has fielded two top 5 defenses that featured Shack (20-21) and JQ (22-23) in significant roles and they were traffic cones. There probably isn't a Herb or Bediako on this team, but we've still seen it be done. And we don't need a top 5 defense to have a great season with this offense. Just a decent one.

but with the way freshmen are better equipped to contribute than ever before

I'm not sure that's true. Yes, more elite guys prep school travel ball. But AAU is considered pretty terrible for player development. It's why you're seeing more skilled European players dominate the NBA, even though they lack the athleticism of Americans. AAU doesn't teach team basketball. And that doesn't even count the burnout factor.

For TBB and Bathea, it’s incredibly hard for good players on bad teams to have high efficiency numbers.

I get Bathea. His numbers were bad in a shitty team. But Bol Bowen shot 41% from 3. His was the one the surprised me the most.

For Amari
good luck projecting freshmen, I understand that. But it explains why our rankings kinda suck.

Holloway is noticeably bigger this year and it’s helping him finish better at the rim

He also didn't lose any quickness when gaining muscle. You can also tell he's much more confident finishing at the rim.

I could tell they were a much better team than at Hamilton's end. They'll probably have some consistency issues, but their new coach looks like a great hire so far.

Collins Onyejiaka will not be able to play Thursday night.

Any ideas on what could be the issue?

My uneducated guess would be it’s a heart issue. I would imagine any other type injury he’d note the body part.

That or some type of clots or pulmonary type situation. Weirdly happens a lot in basketball players and often is brought to light when they start traveling by plane more frequently.

Hoping it’s not anything like that. Just a weird and sudden announcement always seems to be a bad scenario

I think after the St Johns game we’ve gotta find a way to get me in the stadium for big games until we lose
