I agree it gets old hearing Oats asked about Saban. But Ryan Day is no Nick Saban

Yeah. Would be great if you eviscerated that from your memory all together.

Alabama has a championship in hand, but Tuesday's game against AU is still huge

The Auburn game matters because it is the Auburn game. Alabama hasn’t beaten AU twice in a row since it swept the in-state series in 2015. Nothing that happens will alter Alabama’s status as 2021 SEC champions. That doesn’t mean Auburn wouldn’t like to put a little tarnish on the trophy.

I think we match up well defensively against all their guys except Thor.

This one violates the 24 hour rule, but it was a nice write up and was just posted online today:

Alabama wins the SEC regular-season title with the Gators in fourth going to the final week before the conference tournament

quote:

For the first time in 45 years, Alabama is the Southeastern Conference champion in football and men’s basketball.

quote:

The men’s basketball crown comes just two months after the powerhouse Crimson Tide football team claimed the conference title on the way to winning the national championship. It’s the first time both programs won titles in the same academic year since 1975-76, and ending a 19-year drought in basketball was cause for celebration.

USA Today write up on today’s game

Alabama Basketball vs. Auburn: Game Preview, How to Watch, Stream, and Listen

Alabama has done it. With a win over Mississippi State this past Saturday, the Crimson Tide has won the SEC Regular Season Title, their first since 2002.

Despite being conference champs, No. 5 Alabama (19-6, 14-2 SEC) still has two more games to play before heading to Nashville to compete for the tournament crown.

Their first match is a date with the Auburn Tigers (12-13, 6-10) on Tuesday in Tuscaloosa.

ESPN makes SEC Tournament predictions

Wimp’s teams may not have been ‘cutting edge’, but I found them to be entertaining...

It's been ages, if ever, since Alabama was this good in men's basketball. The program has certainly never been this entertaining or cutting-edge.

Does this chart take into account what quadrant a team was when we played them?

It has Kentucky and Miss St in two different quadrants.

I think that has to do with the games being home/away

Read this on Tuscaloosa News. I doubt these guys will continue to shoot this poorly

quote:

John Petty shot just 13-for-43 from 3-point range in February. Jaden Shackelford was just 7-for-35 over the past month. Herb Jones was 19-for-52 regardless of range.

I wonder how much of the poor jump shooting has to do with guys being worn out. The commitment to defense can have a real effect on the legs of these shooters without a deep rotation of players.

No, it shows where a team is ranked in the NET currently.

The reason you see teams like UK and State in different quadrants is because game are rated differently depending on whether they were played at home, on the road or at a neutral site.

To expound on Chadaristic's answer, the four smaller boxes in the middle give the key.

Kentucky is ranked 65th in the NET, so the away win is Q1 (orange A:1-75), while the home win is Q2 (green H:31-75).

Western Kentucky is currently ranked 78th, and that loss was at home, which makes it a Q3 (H:76-160). However, if they were to rise in the rankings just three spots to 75th, it would become a Q2 (H:31-75).
