If they aren't making tough contested shots then they can't score. Some games they do, and they play well, and some games they don't, and they look horrid.
That's why this game is such has such a variable outcome. At worst for us it's close at the end. At best for us we run away from them. So, I like the chances for us to win, but I'd prefer the "us make shots" version where we win comfortably

Which was crazy because we started off so slow. We just poured it on crazy in the second half and ended the game on fire.

Yep. It's crazy, we have either shot the lights out or shot below average. Almost no in-between.
60% from 3 vs UGA
Under 36% in the other 7 games since the last State game.
Before that
41% vs State
54% vs LSU
42% vs Arkansas
47% vs Kentucky
If we could just shoot 37-40% we'd be in great shape. It's the 26-33% nights we've been putting up that are killing us.
We don't have to shoot lights out.

Just a dull basketball team. Although I do sort of enjoy their bench getting a T because the refs had the gall to call a foul on Pons.

They're really not very good. Barnes hasn't done a very good job with them, either. Springer and Johnson will be lottery picks and James is very talented.

5 seconds left and they have Fulkerson and Pons bring the ball up court. Then Barnes calls a timeout and yells at Pons. Like maybe you shouldn’t have them bringing the ball up court?

Something I noticed during the Arkansas game - how does that psychopath Muss chug diet pepsi while coaching? Water seems like the obvious optimal beverage to be drinking while coaching a game. I guess I could understand a sports drink like gatorade or something, but coaching a basketball game seems like a really weird time to be pounding soda.

Yeah, it’s certainly the logical thing. However, we absolutely should not lose to either Auburn or Georgia.
Maybe this is not a consensus take, but I feel like today is our most “losable” game of the final three. I just think Georgia is a good matchup for us, and Auburn absolutely shouldn’t beat us at home with the roster they have now.

I was thinking the same thing. It’s not helping your thirst just making it worse.

Defensively we got to get back too being stingy. Offensively just moved the ball around and play under control. Control the boards or make it close and you win the game!

I look for tonight's game to be physical as usual with State.
I'd like to see us have a quality shooting night, control the boards, limit turnovers, celebrate winning the SEC.
It's been a while so it will be celebrated music/drinks etc...

I just cannot stand Cam Thomas’ game. The constant attempts to buy fouls on his 3 pointers is just awful.
