Interesting that Missouri is involved in three of the five.

Makes sense though, it's how they play. Big guys, drives to the rim, physical.

He definitely had 2 offensive fouls last night, maybe 3.

Which is a recurring theme. He not only fouls a lot but he's been getting fouls early and throwing all the rotational stuff out the window.

They're almost all effort plays, both offensive and defensive, but at some point he has to realize that being on the floor is more important than picking up his 3rd foul trying to close out on a shooter or block a shot at the rim - or going full speed at the rim with a defender in front of him.

Herb has now fouled out of 2 of the last 3 games. He's gotten at least 4 fouls in 5 of the last 6 games. He has to do a better job on the defensive end of staying in the game.

Herb's fouls/40 is the lowest it has been in his career this year by a pretty big margin, so something is going on lately. He has never been the type of guy to finish a bunch of games with 1-2 fouls, but Herb has started nearly 100 games in his career and only recently has simply finishing the game without fouling out turned into a nightly struggle.

It feels like he's pressing defensively. He's guessing more, for some reason, and that's leading to guessing wrong and getting silly fouls.

I don't know if it is health related, residual effect from previous health issues that caused bad habits or what.

That is my guess. I've noticed a few times over the past few weeks where he gets beat and just makes a lazy reach-in foul.

I don't want to jump into the whole ref thing because there is no point to it but last night was, at the very least, one hell of a statistical anomoly.

Basically, Arkansas had their best game of the year both going to the line AND preventing us going to the line. Alabama had their worst game of the year both going to hte line AND preventing the opponent going to the line.

- Arkansas allowed less trips to the line per possession than they have all season but 1. Alabama went to the line per possession less times than they have all season but 1.

- Arkansas went to the line per possession more than they have all season. Alabama allowed more trips to the line per possession than they have all season.

Defensively we were hacking the shite out of them more often than not. There were some stupid fouls for sure, but our guys couldn’t keep their feet on the floor. We’ve been doing that a lot lately. This team is getting worse once again at the end of the season.

You don’t have to like it, but it’s the facts.

Honestly, after a nights sleep it is what it is. We come out slow and not playing well. Got better towards the end of the half. After halftime, we played a lot better until the TO and foul calls. I think they saw how the refs were going to call the game the rest of the night and began to force and play sloppy. The FT differential clearly shows some bias, but we should have played better and smarter.

We have just been slow out of the gates lately especially on the road. Can’t do that against State or it will be a long night. Of course, I don’t expect their to be that big of a difference in FT...at least I hope.

I think Oats handled the fouls calls well, and he was smart to not go after them in the presser. Let Bryne make some calls to the SEC about it. He needs to get his team focused on State. I liked the T on Petty at the end of the game because I think it shows his heart and frustration. Hopefully, they will carry it over into the next game. Play with a chip on their shoulder. Let’s get the W and conference title. We need to hang another banner.

Not really - they've been basically the same team for a month now. Borderline Top 25 team who has figured one thing out only to forget how to do another.

They aren't collapsing, they just came down from their sugar high of early/mid January and they've played good but not great basketball since.

Our players need to be careful though, their attitudes towards the refs is going to get us screwed in the tourney as we will have a bad rap with officials.

I wish our basketball team carried themselves like the football team.

We just need another LSU game to get it together.

I think we'd all agree the LSU game in Baton Rouge was kind of the end of the high level of play that peaked with the Arkansas game in Tuscaloosa and the LSU game in Baton Rouge. The next game was State at home and that's when we kind of started coming back to earth.

Non-Conference (8 games)
- 5-3
- #78 Overall
- #9 SEC
- #87 Offense
- #99 Defense

SEC Games through LSU (A) (7 games)
- 7-0 (7-0)
- #1 Overall
- #1 SEC
- #7 Offense
- #3 Defense

From State (1-23) through Present (9 games)
- 6-3 (6-2)
- #35 Overall
- #5 SEC
- #123 Offense
- #13 Defense

- NIT team in the non conference

- The #1 team in the country for 4 weeks (literally)

- A 6/7 seed type team for the last month

Yeah, right now this team is a borderline 2 seed playing like a 5 or 6 seed. There are some encouraging things though. JQ seems to play better each game and gain confidence. Bruner is playing well while not at 100%. Herb is getting healthier. Gary coming back last night was encouraging.

But with the good, you have to point out the bad. Rebounding is still a problem. Our shooting has gone in the tank the past month. Defense has been really inconsistent the past few games. And we seem to be really sluggish in the opening of both halves.

I thought that unexpected off day last week would rejuvenate them, but it really didn't.

Reese and Shackelford from 3 are killing us. Primo playing like a freshman as of late. Rojas is hot dog shite. Petty streaky. Herb head case with the fouls, granted some are BS.
Ellis meh.
Quinerly, Bruner, and Gary have carried us/put us over the top

I’ll say this. If you have a good ref(s), rule of thumb, no one should know their name.

Been saying that we needed that A&M game not to be postponed.

In hindsight, we theoretically could've clinched already and gone into last night more relaxed.

Last night was worst game I've seen from referee perspective.
If I was a player or coach, I would've been flagged for "T" because that was something that should've been called fair game. I don't care what anyone says, as a former player Referees tend to be little biased toward a team and that is a real thing. Now, Granted we didn't play well and we didn't play good defense at all. I think players kinda panicked last night and lost their composure in final 6 minutes of the game
