Coach Oats said during his press conference they really wanted to get out there today because the weather in College Station is supposed to be worse tomorrow. Doesn’t sound too promising.

Weather here in Texas is bad right now.

I haven't had power in 36 hours.

Not sure how you're keeping your devices charged and accessing the web but best of luck to you and the people of Texas. Not sure what I can do to help but I will Google and brainstorm to see if I can come up with anything helpful.

Man that sucks. I am very thankful that we have it here in north Alabama, a lot of people around us don't. Praying for you.

Doubt it gets played unless they reschedule it to sometime between the Auburn game and the SECT. Doesn't make me too mad anyway, not much to gain from playing the 13th place team in the league, Herb needs the rest anyway.

If you have a cell phone and a running car, it’s pretty easy to charge a phone and access the internet. Not to mention generators, backup batteries, etc. If you lose power enough times, you figure it out. Best wishes to everyone experiencing weather related issues though. Hopefully, we’re done with the snow and ice after this week.

Really wanted to play that game Thursday though. I don’t think we have a problem finding a win somewhere in the the last three games, but if we clinch against Vandy, we have three games to work Bruner back into the lineup and prep for tournament play without much stress.

One problem about having a spread out 14 team conference is the extra travel.
Certainly, we could fly out as late as Thursday morning, play the game in the afternoon and return that night.

As terrible as it is for viewers, I think that was plan when it moved to 2 pm on Thursday. Leaves open the possibility of playing a game, traveling home the same day, then having a full day Friday to prep for Vandy.

Would be better to move it back from a 2 pm start if that happened, Thursday night would be possible. Would make the turnaround to the Saturday game at 11am even faster though.

They could probably move the Saturday game back to a later tipoff.

But I'm kinda just feeling like the hell with it. In one hand you have to consider the safety for all involved. And on the other hand you have to consider what is there to gain and what is there to lose by playing the game. It just doesn't seem worth it.

It's supposed to snow more there Wednesday night/Thursday. seems like too much of a headache. They should just cancel it.

Because Of Covid I think they will do everything they can to get this one in.

Wouldn’t shock me if they move this Game to Friday and the Vandy game to Sunday. Which would be bullshite IMO because it gives Vandy 3 days to prepare and gives Arkansas an extra day to prepare for our game vs them next Wednesday

According to al.com the problem was aircraft and crew related instead of weather in Texas.

Having said that, the power issues they’re having probably make the game very questionable.

ETA: aTm could always come to Tuscaloosa instead. LSU is playing OM on the road twice....

Has any school had a CFP team and a #1 NCAAT seed in the same season?

I can't think of any.

I can't think of any either Saint, but if Ohio St. and Bama keep winning, it could happen in the same year. Maybe we will get to hammer them again in the Final Four.

I keep seeing people say where we don’t have much to gain from playing the 13th team, but I’ll respond the same way I keep responding to that sentiment.

When you have a magic number of 2 with 5 games left, and 2 of those are against the worst 2 teams in the conference, I wouldn’t want to give up one if it could be helped.

When you think about it logically, the SEC should be prioritizing getting Bama v. A&M/Vandy in over Bama v. ARK/MSU/AUB, since we have already played the latter 3 teams.

Wouldn’t make much sense in the context of a 14 team league to play some teams twice while not playing other teams at all.

traveling and playing on the same day shouldn't be considered. That's begging for a loss. It's hard to do.

I am not saying do that. I no longer think the A&M game can be played mid-week. I think that window is gone. I am talking long term over the rest of the season.

The SEC plays an 18 game, 13 + 5 model where you play everyone once and draw 5 teams a second time

Of our 5 remaining games, A&M and Vandy fall into the 13 singles. We haven't played either one of them once.

The final 3 of Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Auburn are all in the 5 doubles (along with LSU/UK). We have already played them this year.

From a league balance standpoint, it wouldn't make sense to not make-up A&M, who we haven't played at all, in order to play ARK/MSU/AUB for a 2nd time.
