I don’t think talent is the issue. We have 3 five stars and the majority of the bench is 4 star talent. That’s pretty good for basketball. We just have some really boneheaded players I think. Boneheaded players is kind of a mantra here.
Alabama has decent-good talent, not close to elite. There is one "discounted" 5 star. Most of the rest are competent and a little better, D1 players. A couple have a chance to improve greatly but they are young and not as developed as some highly regarded HS players.

They are not what you think. Coach Oats is having to cover 2 big shortcomings now. He's a very good coach. His hand is being forced in a couple of areas. It's unfair to him and the players to whine when they are trying to compensate for those shortcomings by doing somewhat unnatural things.

I don’t think our defense was particularly great tonight. Shocked it didn’t drop

I was hoping to go 2-1 over this LSU, Missouri, Carolina stretch and we got it.

This was really the last stretch to make the SEC race interesting again and we didn't let that happen.

Bruner is out, Herb is playing very hurt, JQ is just now recovering fully from his ailment, Gary is hurt. This team has overcome a lot and is leading the SEC by 3 games. The attitude by many Bama fans (not pointing at you, I know you've hung in for a long time) is incredibly unappreciative and stupid. I did this some when I was 12 or 13, but the immature whining and ranting is amazing.

This team is 11th in the country whether Bama fans think they deserve it or not. When they are at full strength they should play much better.

Herb and Bruner hurt and out are a big deal.

Dude, relax. It’s a message board. It’s okay to vent frustrations about some issues we have. EVERY fan base does it. If fans didn’t express their frustration we’d still be watching Avery ISO-ball.

Side Note: what he said doesn’t seem all the egregious so I’m not sure why you chose his to quote...

There were a ton of possessions (at least it certainly seemed that way). Our efficiency numbers probably weren’t bad given that.

We win these next 3 the League is ours. I’m confident Mizzou loses 2 more

It was a middle of the pack game for us defensive efficiency wise. Still under 100, so a good performance, but not one of our elite ones.

Bruner isn't going to solve all the issues for this team. Quite frankly, the turnovers and missed layups are a bigger deal. But Bruner did do a lot of dirty work underneath. Helped create 2nd chance opportunities; good passer; good on defense; and better than anyone we have around the rim.

But I'm with you - the team's been average at best since Mississippi State. But that's also basketball. A game of with weird stretches. That auburn squad that made the Final Four escaped Coleman Coliseum with a win against an Avery team that lost to Norfolk State in the NIT.

Both Mizzou and USC killed us with floaters around the rim. No big man is rearing its ugly head in that regard.

You know everything doesn’t have to be sunshine pumped, right? It’s ok for Fans to talk about their teams flaws and what they would do to fix it. It doesn’t make you a bad fan

I agree that fans can talk about shortcomings, plus I'm in no position to say what posters here can or cannot do. But the manner in which things are said means a lot and some sympathy and understanding and appreciation for their great accomplishments is in order, IMO.

Players and their families and the coaches families read msg boards. It matters. Coach Oats has already expressed his "concern" over things said on social media. Every little thing matters when contemplating your next moves.

Yea, and those Torvik time period stats reflect that.

But, we've found ways to win all but 2 of those games. That's a big step up from the crumbling when things go wrong we are used to seeing.

Bruner’s shooting over the 4-5 games before he got hurt was huge too. Felt like he barely missed from deep.

Meanwhile, we’re all understandably pleased with Reese’s overall game this year, but it’s smart to just leave him open from 3 at this point. He’s the one guy that teams will just consistently sag off of, and why not. He’s 25.2% from 3 this year on 4.2 attempts per game.

If they can’t handle it, then they don’t need to read it. No one is above criticism and if someone doesn’t like it then they can choose not to read. People are pointing out valid flaws. People are also venting.

We've had 8 offensive efficiency games under 100

3 were the early losses (Clemson, Stanford, WKU)

The other 5 have been in the last 20 days - Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Kentucky, LSU.

It’s amazing how good we are capable of playing. It’s also amazing at how bad we can look at times
