At least Quinerly has 10, 12, and 13 in the last three games. Signs of life, even if he’s still making some bad plays at times.
I hope his play this year will revert back to what he played like before the medical condition. Some of it has to do with the fact he hasn't played an entire season so long.
He gets hot from 3 occasionally, but he is nowhere near the PG we needed him to be.

All I meant was we aren’t a dominant team talent-wise - compared to some of the past SEC teams that blitzed the league and went undefeated or close to it.
We have to basically bring it most nights to some degree at least. There aren’t many safe games.
Though I did think we were going to win the game pretty much all night too.

Agreed. It would be impossible to think we could sustain a 3 month heater. I just didn’t think we’d revert back this far.
Bruner is out, Herb is playing very hurt, JQ is just now recovering fully from his ailment, Gary is hurt. This team has overcome a lot and is leading the SEC by 3 games. The attitude by many Bama fans (not pointing at you, I know you've hung in for a long time) is incredibly unappreciative and stupid. I did this some when I was 12 or 13, but the immature whining and ranting is amazing.
This team is 11th in the country whether Bama fans think they deserve it or not. When they are at full strength they should play much better.
Herb and Bruner hurt and out are a big deal.

Wasn't just Gary. I think Reese got hurt too.
He was limping during a timeout and holding his side/back. He never came back in.

I don’t think talent is the issue. We have 3 five stars and the majority of the bench is 4 star talent. That’s pretty good for basketball. We just have some really boneheaded players I think. Boneheaded players is kind of a mantra here.
Not to mention the injury problems as well.

You know everything doesn’t have to be sunshine pumped, right? It’s ok for Fans to talk about their teams flaws and what they would do to fix it. It doesn’t make you a bad fan

I say how good we look when we play really well and I call us shitty when we play like trash. Fandom

I've been saying this too, but let's be honest. Bruner isn't Shaq, he doesn't make THAT much of a difference for us. If we are hot from 3, and our guards find ways to get open looks, we dominate. Otherwise, we are average. But even at average we are somehow grinding out wins, and damn near beat Missouri after being down 20. It's a hard team to understand, but for the most part we are winning, which blows my mind.
Hopefully we find our form in March in the same way we did in those games in January. If we do, we will be hard to beat by anybody.

Can we get a magic number going here? I guess it's kind of hard with COVID cancellations and stuff.
It's gotta be down to what, 3 or 4?

This thread Praises when the team does good and bitches when they do bad. It’s what FANS do because we love and Care about our school/team

Clearly not expressing my point very well tonight
I agree that we have talent - it’s just not like some of those Kentucky teams of the past or some of the Florida teams. We have more talent than a lot of teams in the league (most of the teams), but it’s not overwhelming.
There’s...maybe a first round pick on this team? Maybe Herb, maybe Primo eventually.
I’m not discounting what we’ve done. This team has a lot of grit and has been a ton of fun to watch. I also am just happy we won the game - I don’t care how we got there.
After so many bubble years it’s just great to be thinking purely in terms of seed at this point.

Quinerly has been better these last 3 games. He is finding his groove back.
His shot has been better, but he still can’t run the offense. Everybody disses Oats for using Herb as our initiator too much, but even hurt he’s been better at it than Quinerly. Quinerly had 1 assist and 3 TOs while Herb had 7 assists and 4 TOs.

Even with all those injuries I feel confident against Georgia at home. Ambrose Hilton can play well as a big.

Also, the bright side here is that we probably don’t have to worry about Oats leaving as much unless we just run the tournament and make a final 4.
