I watched Ohio State and Iowa play the other night and it’s just a different level of execution.

I can cherry pick games from us this season with similar execution and level of play.

We’ve lost 2 games this calendar year, both on the road to really good teams. Losses suck, especially on back to back Saturday’s, but the sky is not falling.

But there are also a lot of things to correct in the coming weeks.

The offense has to get rolling again. It was better the last five minutes because they were missing shots and we were getting some transition. But our half court offense has devolved into a lot of one-on-one and the other four guys standing around.

Primo looks pretty passive to me. He's not real active on the offensive end right now.

Yep.

I think all will be fine. Whole team (minus Ellis)seems to be in a slump right now. Just gotta respond better and finish through. Bruner is deeply missed inside.

Yeah that was a horrendous no-call. Probably changed the ending of the game. Refs should be fined for missing obvious crap like that.

Yeah, honestly I’m not even mad.

At one point I was thinking this team might need a 30-point loss to motivate their arse, then I was fully anticipating we’d pull it out at the end. What a roller coaster.

As others have said, hopefully this is a learning experience and a spark that we needed to finish this thing out over the next few games.

Will we get him back at some point? I figured that would have happened by now. I hope we don't just try to throw him back in at the start of postseason play.

ETA: Nevermind. I thought the injury was longer ago than it was.

Oats said 4 games a few days ago so I’d assume the Vandy game

I’ve got a wild theory about Bruner....I think his knee is fine but he hasn’t been on the bench the last 2 games so I think he might have tested positive.... and they are using his knee to explain his absence

Well that's good. I'd like to see him get into some regular season games if he comes back instead of throwing him into playoff games immediately.

If we can get Bruner back, maybe this will wake us up out of this slump of not playing well. Man, I sure hope so.

My main takeaway today is that Keon Ellis needs to start and play starters minutes going forward. And the emphasis to him needs to be that he needs to slash and force teams to help off to stop him from attacking the rim.

He has an ability that nobody else on the roster had to get to the rim and finish. And it's our biggest issue on offense right now. Let the man solve it.

We somehow lost this game by only 3. And had 2 shots to win on beautifully drawn up plays that were just missed.

Yep. Start him over Primo and maybe that’ll get Primo into a rhythm after seeing a little game action first.

Ellis and Gary have both been playing really well the last few games. My only concern with Ellis driving the ball is he really doesn't have the size to do it all game. Can he handle that pounding all game?

I'd be fine only seeing Rojas on the floor for a few minutes a game going forward.
