It wasn’t an open look. The defender closed out and made him double clutch, which is why it came up short. There was some contact, but I’m fine with a no call in that scenario.

He didn't have to double clutch, he could have just went straight up with the shot. The defender never even jumped he just put his hand up and stood there

I am confused why teams like to play hard when there is 5mins left in a game. It's like a kid who has shat the bed all semester and then want to ask the teacher for extra credit at the end.

Last play if the game, some extra contact will be allowed. That dude obliterated Herbs shot, you aren’t getting that call. Shouldn’t have gone to Herb in the first place

The first dude who jumped fouled Herb not the other guy. He literally came down all over his back and head after the pump. Textbook pump fake foul that gets called almost automatically the rest of the game.

I don't think they ever "didn't play hard". I think we're mentally struggling because we're physically struggling, and that makes you overthink things and be 1-2 steps behind.
When we pressed we just started playing and stopped thinking. Then all of a sudden things started working and we just kept playing without thinking.

It’s kinda crazy we are even in discussion for a 1 seed right now. Don’t like our team vs any top 20 team if we had to play them. We’re just so meh offensively

His teammate was climbing Herb’s back while he obliterated him.

Yeah the block was clean. Maybe some contact underneath by the second guy but you aren’t getting that call in the last 10 seconds of the game. I actually think the whistles were more than fair most of the day. We actually shot more free throws than they did

Yep. Easy to overlook when we’re down 20, but we left a lot of points at the line. Could have been the difference late.

Yeah maybe shouldn't have said open look, but I think he could have gotten off a better shot than what he did. Maybe he thought he had less time on the clock than he actually di.
I'm not mad over this loss either. The team responded much better in the second half, and then that comeback was amazing. We have a reliable player in Ellis who just brings it on defense and his confidence is rocketing.
This game needs to be a wakeup call. That effort in tbe first cannot be acceptable.

Great play call by Oats after the timeout to get Herb the wide open layup.
That said, didn’t think it was a great timeout with Mizzou on the ropes and Keon playing great.
