How much longer are they going to keep Crean around? This is a disaster.

I wouldn't rule out them keeping him another year. I think they're paying him a lot and UGA just doesn't care about basketball.

I remember it was “leaked” that we hired Thad who I was all in on, and I was so ecstatic. I put my phone away and took care of a chore I had put off in our crawl space. An hour later, I come out from under the house with lungs full of dirt, open my phone and see the notification and I was pissed in the moment. Byrne nailed the hire, but I maintain that he should’ve chosen any other name...

Hell, he could have leaked Mike Davis, and we all would’ve rejoiced at his brilliance after Nate Oats was announced instead of tweeting a bunch of regrettable, foolish slanders of him and his household

Great - can't wait for him to explain basketball to us all like we're 5-year-olds and belittle everyone watching because we are "football schools".

His sense of self-importance is just so obnoxious.

It was Forbes for me, Oats was a surprise b/c I didn't think he would consider Bama. Luckily, Michigan's coaching search came after ours.

Clemson beat Louisville, that will bump them up from a Q2 loss to a Q1 loss.

So I’m rewatching the game and When Shack fouled Askew way out there with like 30 seconds left Herb immediately got on his arse about it. Love that kind of leadership.

about the cooper kid at the barn. am i way off kilter, when i say he reminds me of chris jackson when he was at lsu.

I don't really see that comparison at all. I thought at the time that Jackson had the quickest release to get a three off with that step back between the legs dribble to get separation from the defender that I had ever seen. I still remember the 53 he dropped on a really good Florida team that Freshman year but I don't remember him getting into the lane like Cooper and dishing.

Hard to come up with a comparison for him, he isn't a good shooter at all he is shooting 19% from three. He is an elite passer and driver though, great at getting fouled.

In years of watching college basketball on TV, I really couldn't name you many play by play or commentary guys that excite me to hear they are covering an Alabama game. I don't really need to hear "Onions" on a made 3 late in a game. Don't need any of Vitales routines, and I really don't want to hear football team comparisons during a basketball game.

Just once in my life I would love to watch an Alabama basketball game without a reference to either football or the Alabama football program.

Kentucky/Boston Rondo. On offense at least. I don't think Cooper is even remotely that good defensively from what I have seen.

I just don’t understand how UGA is and aside from a single final 4 season, has always been so terrible at basketball.

This is the 89th season of SEC basketball. UGA has a winning conference record in 20 of them (compared to 42 for Bama). Hugh Durham, who got them to take final 4 was something like 2 games over .500 in conference for his career.

I’m not sure John Wooden could win there.

I will take a stab at this. I honestly believe the proximity to blue blues and traditional well established programs sucks up a bunch of in-state talent.

The Atlanta metro area along usually produces SEC level basketball players. The AAU circuit is a monster in Atlanta but you have to get to those kids early and establish relationships. Basketball is the totally opposite from football you rarely see last minute flips.

In a sign of how bad things have gotten for K-State basketball, strength coach Ben O'Donnell tore his Achilles yesterday and had to have surgery today. The team bus also broke down before the game. Some coaches walked to the arena. Not sure how they're getting to the airport.

Things have not been going well for Bruce Weber since the Kira situation.
