After a 105-75 win over LSU and a 81-73 win over Mississippi State last week, Alabama is near the top of the most prominent projects for the NCAA Tournament.
Here's where UA stood in the projections before Tuesday night's home game against Kentucky:
Joe Lunardi, ESPN
No. 2 seed in Region 2, matched up with 15 Texas State, projected champion of the Sun Belt. Baylor is the 1 seed in the region.
Jerry Palm, CBS
No. 3 seed, matched up with 14 Belmont, projected champions of the Ohio Valley Conference. Baylor is the 1 seed in the region, Iowa is the 2.
Michael DeCourcy, Fox Sports
No. 2 seed in the Midwest region, matched up with 15 UC Irvine, projected champions of the Big West. Michigan is the 1 seed in the region.
Tim Krueger, Stadium
No. 2 seed in the Midwest region, once again matched up with 15 Texas State. Michigan is the 1 seed in this projection
INCCStats.com
1 seed, no specific first-round matchup or bracket given. It also gives UA a 34.5% chance of winning the automatic bid via the SEC Tournament.

Freshman forward Keon Ambrose-Hylton has seen an uptick in minutes in Alabama’s last three games. Since senior starter Jordan Bruner sustained a meniscus injury at Kentucky on Jan. 12, Ambrose-Hylton’s playing time has tripled from 3.375 minutes per game to 9.67.
The 6-foot-8, 210-pounder is getting more comfortable in the Crimson Tide’s rotation.
“My teammates, they trust me a lot on the court when it comes to relocating or hitting threes,” Ambrose-Hylton said. “I’m getting comfortable on the court with them and then the coaches believing in my skills makes me happy to be playing with my guys and enjoying my time here.”
Ambrose-Hylton arrived on campus as the nation’s No. 110 overall prospect and No. 21 power forward in the 2020 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports. Through the first eight games of the 2020-21 season, the freshman from Toronto, Ontario, scored a combined six points. But in the last three games, he has produced 10 points, including four points and four rebounds -- and a highlight dunk -- against Arkansas on Jan. 16, signaling his continued growth.
“I’ve grown tremendously,” Ambrose-Hylton said. “Every day, (Oats) will talk to me in practice, off the court about what I can do. I have Coach B, Coach Charlie talking to me, texting me, sending me clips from our practices. And guys like Herb, Shack and John Petty will always help me on the court and never get mad at me but just help me with good criticism.”
Senior wing Herbert Jones added, “It’s nothing I haven’t seen. He’s done it every day since he got on campus. He always was a high-energy guy, very coachable. He could pass, dribble and shoot. I mean, it’s been pretty much the same for me. I know he hasn’t gotten as many minutes as he would like to on the court, but I see it every day. His growth, it’s been pretty good.”
Ambrose-Hylton’s numbers haven’t been stellar. He is averaging 1.5 points and 1.0 rebound per game midway through his first season in Tuscaloosa, Ala. But he has been effective, shooting 72.7 percent (8-of-11) from the field. With more opportunities, he could continue to improve his season-long averages while providing low-post depth off the bench for the Tide.
Bruner will still miss a few weeks, and another forward, James Rojas, has not practiced due to a medical condition. At best, Rojas will be a game-time decision this evening when No. 9 Alabama hosts Kentucky (6 p.m. CT on ESPN), meaning more minutes for the true freshman.
“We’re gonna need Keon to play well for us again,” said head coach Nate Oats. “He’s athletic. He’s active. He’s eager. He’s very coachable. We like him a lot. Like I’ve said before, we kind of recruited him to be more of a four, not as much a five. We’re having to play him at the five a little bit more, but shoot, he can block shots, rebound. He’s been working on his skill. He can make a jumper. Shoot, he can make threes. He’s gonna get minutes.
“Hopefully Reese is able to give us some good, quality minutes for longer than normal, and when he’s out, a combination of Ambrose, Rojas, even Juwan. Shoot, Herb can even guard the five sometimes. So, we’ve got options there. Our depth’s a lot better to be able to withstand some injuries this year versus last year. Last year, guys would go down, and we’d be in some serious trouble. ... There comes a point when you can only withstand so many, but we’ve been able to withstand what we’ve had this year so far.”

It's a shame Petty isn't on the list.

Just two short weeks ago, Alabama came into Rupp Arena, hit 14 three-pointers and handed Kentucky an 85-65 defeat, the worst home loss in the John Calipari era.
The loss was the first of three straight for the Wildcats following a 3-0 start in SEC play before bouncing back with a decisive 82-69 win over LSU Saturday night.
Tuesday, UK travels to Tuscaloosa looking to even the score with the No. 9 Crimson Tide, the lone remaining unbeaten in the SEC at 8-0.
The good news for Kentucky?
Over the last five seasons, after winning an SEC road game by 15 or more points, Alabama is 0-4 in the return game at home.
"We’re gonna try to make sure that doesn’t happen, but Kentucky’s a really talented team that if you don’t come ready to play, they’re gonna get you," Tide head coach Nate Oats said. "We’ve gotta come ready to play, that’s for sure."
In its last outing, Calipari's club put together perhaps its best performance of the season, scoring a season-high 82 points in a wire-to-wire win over the Tigers. Four Wildcats scored in double figures for just the fourth time this season, led by Brandon Boston Jr.'s second consecutive game scoring a team-high 18 points.
"I think they’re playing with a little bit more confidence in their offensive game," Oats said. "BJ Boston looks a lot better just within those two weeks than he did against us. He’s gotten a lot more of that swagger back. They’re doing a little bit more with their rotations. It’s hard to change a ton in two weeks, but they’re better. They’re 100 percent better than they were two weeks ago, so we’re gonna have to play better than we did two weeks ago."
Oats says he's expecting to see some different wrinkles after UK allowed Alabama to make 14 of 30 three-pointers in the first meeting.
"They showed a little bit of zone. … I’ve seen a few possessions here and there of zone, which makes sense. When you beat a team pretty good, you try to think of what the other coach may do," Oats said.
"They had a hard time guarding off the dribble a little bit. Sometimes teams go zone. When you hit 23 threes in a game, if I was the coach, I’d have a hard time zoning us. We shoot the ball that well. I think they’re playing hard, playing more in-sync, they’re playing better. But you can’t change your whole identity in two weeks. So, they’re more similar than they were two weeks ago, but they’re just a better version of it."
Kentucky (5-9, 4-3 SEC) and 9th-ranked Alabama (13-3, 8-0) tip off from Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa at 7 PM ET live on ESPN. The Crimson Tide haven't swept the season series since the 1988-89 season and haven't beaten the Wildcats in two straight since the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons.

Cam Thomas being on there is laughable. Guy will turn out to be good but he hasn't proven himself against worthy competition.

He has been putrid in conference play. I have no idea how Wade can justify letting a dude who shoots that poorly attempt 8+ 3s a game. Probably part of the terms of the strong arse offer he accepted.

I would lose my fricking mind if we had a player who Oats was letting take ~35% of our total shots and missing ~70% of them.

Give me the over. WAY over.
It’s possible we have a bad shooting night, and they have a good one to beat us. I just don’t believe this UK team has flipped a switch because they’re currently riding a hot win streak of one game. Are we really changing our minds about UK for beating up on an LSU team who was humiliated probably worse than they ever have been in program history in their previous game? Some teams come out mad the next game after a bad performance, but often times the reverse happens and that was the case for the undisciplined Will Wade team. I’d predict it will be a similar result to last time and maybe worse if we’re locked in. We may have hit our threes last time, but it wasn’t pretty inside the arc and the defensive performance was pretty easily the worst since the non-conference slate.
