This may be the most important week in Alabama basketball history because if we win these next two, we could be looking at top 5. Would that be a first for us?

Holy exaggeration

No. We were actually #1 for a week under Gottfried. I believe that year we collapsed and barely squeaked into the big dance and I want to say lost in the first round.

Did we even win a game as #1 or did we lose the game after, I can't remember.

Either way - that week was GLORIOUS.

I’m just trying to feel the hype SoG. I’m trying to convince myself that we won’t collapse like always.

Anyone else have a feeling tonight is going to be a very tough game?

We immediately lost to Utah and then we were abysmal in conference. Snuck into the tournament as a either 10 or 11 and lost to an average at best Indiana team

Anyone hear Nate Oats' interview with Rothstein? He jokes around with him, but Oats throws some shade at him about not putting Herb as one of his top glue guys and not putting Alabama in his top 45.

I think most of the games are gonna be tough from here on out.

I also am confident that teams are going to have to play 40 full minutes of offense and defense to beat us. I'm not convinced Kentucky can beat us unless we have a 20% from 3PT shooting type night (which is possible).

I do - I think UK comes to play.

But I also think Bama struggling some against Mississippi State may help focus the team.

Oats also referenced how 4 times Alabama won on the road by double digits (or 20+) or something like that in previous seasons and was 0-4 on the return back home, so I think he will have them focused and ready to compete.

Yeah, my gut tells me this might be the first one we drop in the SEC. Whether this is it or not, I hope our fans can keep some perspective when we do lose.

I think we win by about 10. They had their best offensive outing by a mile and barely got 80 points against a bad LSU defense. We had our worst game in about a month and scored 80 against a good State defense. I don’t think UK can repeat what they did Saturday. No Bruner and Rojas does worry me but We have found a way so far

Basically if we shoot 35% from 3 we win rather easily

I just don't think this team is a group at this point that is going to let up and lose focus on anything. They might not play great every night, but I don't think they will lose any games because they took a night off or didn't respect an opponent.

Their goal is to perfect the system and win every possession. You can see it in the way we play. I hate crossing over into football when it comes to basketball, but this team has become extremely process oriented, and they want to bury everyone.

Kentucky will probably play their arse off tonight, but we're gonna give them 40 minutes of offense and they ain't gonna be able to keep up.

In summation

Yep. A bad recipe for this team is a bad shooting night from the 3-point line and getting dominated on the glass on both ends of the court. It can certainly happen, and probably will at some point this season, but the effort will be there.
