Is that legal?
Yes. I looked it up and Nate Oats is legally allowed to do anything he wants.

Unnecessary maybe, but I don't think it's a problem now that they're married. Working with your spouse and working with your girlfriend are very different things from an HR perspective.

It’s just more bad optics for a program that can’t stop having own goals. I love Nate and am thankful for how good we are but damn it’d be nice to go an extended period of time without something for the media to latch onto

All that matters is he is not her supervisor. If UA HR allowed it, I don’t give a shite.
I know examples where UA HR got their pansies in a wad over somebody’s son working as a student employee for them. So I doubt they’re less annoying about real arse employees.
But also UA HR doesn’t consider student employment real work experience when grading resume for job qualifications. So why would they give a shite about student employee nepotism? They don’t even think it’s real work!

You want to keep Nate around? Hire his hot, basketball obsessed, volunteered in the basketball department for years while Avery was the coach, Gump as frick wife. She'll drink 6 Dr Peppers, bang the shite out of Nate, then cuddle while they watch game film together.

I get what you're saying but the media puts Alabama under a microscope and creates their own narrative to create a faux-outrage. Then every other fan base reacts because they hate Alabama.

Miles has warrant for promoting prison contraband. How do get a warrant in jail? Can't they just serve you immediately?

Idk but I'm ready for someone to produce some basketball practice footage.

I'm ready for Nate's wife to produce a couple anchor babies, to keep him in Tuscaloosa for another couple decades. I bet that kid would pop out of the womb carrying a lunch pail.

Kid would never ever go in TIME OUT

Who cares about "optics"? At what point in 2026 do optics begin to affect a program in a negative way? Unless it's something that prevents you from being able to sign good players, does it really matter in the least in 2026? No recruit is going to not sign with Alabama because a media writer might write an article denouncing an off-court decision. Fans spend entirely too much time worry about "optics" when it almost never amounts to a hill of beans.

I'm ready to beat Seton Hall for Latrell by 30. Suck it PJ.
That's where I'm at. Rtr
the foul at midcourt with 3 seconds left in the Mich-Seton Hall 1989 final was the worst call in all of college sports ever. Sorry, Preston Gothard.

I scooped tickets to the ole miss exhibition then grabbed some to take my family to the cm newton classic vs St John’s December 12. Season can’t tip soon enough for me.

Basketball recruiting with Oats has gotten to be like how football was under Saban. Just no need to worry about it because in the end we're going to sign a lot of talented players and field a really good team.
