Damn we filled the full 15. I didn’t think we would do that.

Sounds like we do not want to be caught lacking size anymore.

This puts Bama into the top 10 list for biggest frontcourts in CBB. 82.6 inch average. Ties us with UCONN and UNC.
Watching his highlights, he wont see the floor this year unless injuries have devastated us. But I see potential. He's obviously still learning, but has a soft touch when needed, long arms and can jump a bit when he needs too. I love that we took a chance on him. Give him a year of S&C and learning, and I bet he will flourish.
edit: has fairly quick feet too. Hes not stuck in mud.

I really liked his highlights tbh. Not sure that he’s playing against amazing competition but Canada has some great basketball players so maybe. But I’ve seen videos of him making great cuts to the rim and finishing, great passes out of the post to a cutting teammate.
And I’d almost forgotten what it looked like to have a big man dunk on people based off the soft as baby arse bigs we had last year.

Brampton Ontario and they have a lot of West Indies/Jamaicans
But why?
How does one go from Jamaica to Ontario?

Don’t know if he sucks or not but I’m all for having a full roster if and when shite hits the fan.

Jamaica and Canada are both part of the Commonwealth so immigration is relatively easy. Jamaica is poor and dangerous and Canada is not so a lot of people moved in the 70s and 80s. Jamaicans make up like a 3rd of Canada’s black population
ETA: Actually pre dates the 70s and was a post WW2 increase in labor from other British Commonwealth nations. Below is a Wikipedia article on it if you’re interested

Went Montreal to see us play McGill University a few years ago, the COLLEGE competition in Canada is horrific, can't imagine how bad HS basketball is

I found a picture of our new Canadian center...

Gotta be honest Idk if he plays this year
Play and playing regular minutes are two different things. I could see him playing. His vertical isn't much, but you can't teach a 7'5 wingspan. And let's be honest, it's hard to get much worse than Williamson last season.
All I really got from the clip is he can dunk. He's the kinda prospect I wanna see defensive highlights.

He’s 100% a break in case of emergency back bench guy

If he can rebound run and jump a little he will be what we need and have needed for the past few years. 7’ and 265lbs , arm reach of 9’.5” is what we desperately require.
Hopefully we can teach him some basketball skills in the next couple of years.
It was embarrassing getting bullied by behemoths and just watching helplessly.
Feel better now.

Thanks for the link - very interesting. Ontario is by a factor of 15 or so the most popular home for Canadians of Jamaican descent. Nothing else is in the ballpark.

Used to live in st. Lucia and it was quite common to get tourists from Canada and vice-versa.

If you're looking for rare reggae records pressed over the past 50 years: Brooklyn, London, Toronto.

Of course I hope he plays and plays well, but at the very least, I hope he can provide some good practice competition while he learns the system. Hard to simulate a 7 footer.

Michigan guard, LJ Cason, just committed to Miami. Relevant because we play them.

He isn’t suppose to play this season. He tore his ACL pretty late in the season
