I still have Florida PTSD. Luckily Nate Oats does not.

I think they have NCAA tournament talent, but I just don't really trust Howland. He's the classic "roll the ball on the court and let em go" type coach, and you need a shite ton of NBA talent like he had at UCLA to make that work night in and night out.

They did well in the transfer portal with Garrison Brooks, Rocket Watts, and DJ Jeffries. Having Tolu Smith and Molinar back helps too. Don't know much about their depth except for Javion Davis - who was at Herb's draft night party.

Kentucky now has the lead in predictions for Shaedon Sharpe, Dereck Lively, Reed Sheppard, Cason Wallace, Adem Bona and Nick Smith. All class of 2022 guys with five-star Skyy Clark already committed. No idea how this shakes out.

I'm not surprised he's gonna take his official visits. Who wouldn't want to take a free trip to get wined and dined?

I mean let’s face it, with this new NIL stuff, if you are top recruit, it basically comes down to who has the best “offer.”

I mean Gonzaga is a top 3 program in the country now and Hamilton is one of the best recruiters there is so I’d prefer him be committed and not visit Gonzaga or FSU

Oats has proven to be a good recruiter too. We have had two top 12 classes in a row. I wouldn't count us out.

Yeah we have more to offer recruits as a program than ever before. Play for a great coach, win games, possibly be a lotto pick, play fast, score a bunch of points, win championships, be on TV, plus the NIL help from the athletic department.

I mean, the only thing i can think of that's missing from the list is lots of cool jerseys.

Id say a national championship ring as well, but Oats might check that box off sooner than later

Oh, I definitely get it. But I'm not got stress out every time a recruit we want visits a top program. Because they're going to take visits. Who wouldn't want to take advantage?

It's a big reason why I quit following football recruiting. Though with football, I just know we're gonna get good players. Basketball is trending in that direction, but are definitely not there yet. With NIL, not being historically elite could hurt. Though Gonzaga is elite but small. Florida St has no better fan support than Bama, they just have a well established coach. I think we'll fare well overall. It's the Kentucky, Kansas, UNC, Duke blue bloods that will have the big advantage with nil, like us with football.

Until I see bricks moving, I’d have to add a new arena to the list
