Castillo is a sophomore. This is his first career start, he was our closer last year.

2-2 top 4th now. Castillo pulled after a lead-off walk, Jon Keller in to replace him. Castillo's final line: 3 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 3 BB, 1 K. Keller gets out of the inning so its tied heading to the bottom half.

Vincent knocks a two-run double after Smith and Haynie were HBP to start the 7th. Webb then also HBP, two on and none out, 4-2 Alabama bottom seventh.

Salem walks, bases loaded for White. White walks, Moore singles, Overstreet singles and its 8-2 in the 7th.

Alabama wins 9-3 and takes the series from a very solid St Louis team. Jon Keller gets the win today thanks to his 4 scoreless innings of relief. Jay Shaw pitched a perfect 8th and Jake Hubbard returned for the first time since Tommy John surgery to pitch the 9th. He allowed an unearned run in his debut.

Alabama 9 5 2
St Louis 3 5 0

Went to the game today. It was a good time out in the right field plaza! We had some good heckling of the rt fielder Danny!

Solid series. Veterans showed and played well while several young guys stepped up and performed very well. We seem to have depth. It is still very early, but I am very optimistic.

Glad to see us take the first series and hopefully they can carry this good momentum on through the season.
