Texas started a guy against Tennessee that had thrown 2 innings ALL YEAR.

That Schloss guy must not know shite.

Almost like he was wanting to rest his starters for their regional.

So Tennessee threw their #2 vs our number #6

And their #1 vs Texas’s # infinity

The committee will hopefully see that, but if it comes down to us vs Tennessee hosting, we’re probably out.

I do have us over Florida though.

We aren't hosting. (Which Im fine with). No one (D1, BA) has us hosting today. Id rather be a #2 in a #12 or #13 region than a #16 host and have no chance in Supers.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all for Bama to be the #2 seed in the #16 region….

Don’t underestimate the committee.

Do schools still submit bids to the NCAA to host? Can’t imagine losing more money with our crowds . People (some of us who care) are going to be pissed when Vaughn leaves but we have nobody but ourselves to blame . Hope Byrne has a large Rolodex on baseball coaches

In fairness, this is the first time in like a decade we have had a competitive team. As they have more success we may see people show up.

We are three wins away from our 2nd super regional in 3 years

Maybe not a big deal for LSU, Texas, Arkansas, etc but certainly a big deal for Alabama considering the hell we’ve been put through to get here.

Texas actually has a regional wrapped up.

I think Bama needed that UT win for more than just a regional. This program needs some
juice. It needed to get the fans excited for something. Had Bama won that game, theyd have been facing Texas' 2 inning guy. Then Bama fans pack the Hoover Met to see if Bama can win win a SEC tournament title and that regional host is solidified. Ole Miss and UT are now firmly ahead of Bama for a host bid.

Watching this tournament has been eye-opening in regards to our pitching woes.

Quick is the only player that would sniff a weekend starting role on most of these teams

Our conference ERA is 6.03 (13th) and BA is .240 (14th)

The fact that we were a couple wins away from finishing 5th in the whole damn league needs to be studied.

No idea how Vaughn scrapped together 16 wins with this bunch.

The science behind moving Fay to the Friday night role will absolutely be looked at among the league.

And I had people ask why I thought JJ did a poor job of developing pitchers. We don’t hit spots, looks like we don’t even try. Just throw it near the plate and take our chances! Everyone throws 90+ now, so location and movement are a must. Outside of Quick, we really don’t get either from anyone else.

Have you seen Carson Ozmer? He is the top closer in the nation. Fay, is a solid guy. He has simply been stuck with the scraps of the bullpen during his starts. Going forward, he will replace Zane Adams in the rotation and will get the Myers and other better bullpen guys backing him up.

In the SEC, which is practically high-A ball with composite bats, much of our pitching has struggled. But, against everyone else, with the exception of one slip up against Presbyterian, we've dominated.

With our out of conference record, we have a good chance to get out of our regional. If we play a super against a non-SEC team we have a good chance there as well. Of course, we also could stain the bed in post season. One never knows.

MSU - 3.1 innings - 2 runs - no decision
LSU - 3 innings - 1 run - no decision
Mizzou - 5.1 innings - 2ER - no decision
Vandy - 5 innings, 3 runs, this one the BP did fall apart quickly
Georgia - 4 innings - 6 runs
Florida 4.2 innings - no decision - Staton Error fricked us
SEC Tournament Missouri - 6 innings - W

Can’t really complain about the pen if you’re consistently exiting the game in the 5th inning.

He’s left the game with the lead like 3 times in the past 7 starts (unless I’m missing something).

LSU (3 innings), Florida (that sucked), and Missouri this week (win).

More at play here than the BP scraps.

I will say I never understood why Myers never relieved him on Fridays but I suppose it worked out.

Edit: He was great against Florida (they were down 3 starters) and I’m not going to put much stake in the Missouri game although he was pretty dominant. They just suck incredibly bad.

What regional do we figure? Hattiesburg? I think that’s best bet. Bama can outslug them and they’ve struggled when they’ve hosted SEC teams in regionals.

I hope Hattiesburg. I think that one is highly winnable.

Ozmer was where the last 4 years? Not in Tuscaloosa under JJ’s tutelage!

So does this mean we are going to give him a pass on all of the other transfers, the vast majority of whom didn’t pan out, and for the underclassmen, who have not performed well either? Since he hasn’t developed them.

Someone explain why Southern Miss and Florida State are being predicted to host over us when we have a better resume and a higher RPI than both of them? Is it just the too many SEC hosts thing?
