I’d like to think you wouldn’t need Fay to beat a SWAC school, albeit an ok one. But I guess it’s the safe conservative play.

I love the annual “should teams pitch off in regionals” debate. Historically, both options have had nearly identical success rates. Not last year. Of the seven hosts eliminated in regionals, six changed up their rotation order, including three that dropped their opening game.

Cool. That has zero bearing on our regional, every situation is different and a one year sample size stat does not apply at all to our regional. Blowing your best pitcher in a home regional against an ok SWAC team is insane. One of the benefits of hosting is not having to do that. If we were playing a 4-seed that had a stud Friday starter? Sure.

I bolded the non-small sample size stat. Blowing your ace against Alabama St is certainly a choice.

Adams has been our worst starter in conference play, and this decision means he’ll pitch against one of the hotter and better lineups in the tournament instead of against Alabama St.

A lot of Oklahoma State’s better hitters are lefties. Fay is also much more homer prone than Adams. I definitely understand pitching Fay in game 1 and Adams in game 2. It may not work but it makes sense in theory.

Yeah but that was more an issue of our hitting being cold

What happens if our hitting is cold again?

Don’t have a problem with throwing Fay. I’m probably still sore from us throwing off against SEMO in 2002 and losing the regional when we were I think the #3 national seed.

As if the weather forecast and already limited parking wasn’t enough….

Unfortunately I’m guessing this cheer camp has been scheduled for close to a year. Doubt they expected us to be hosting quite frankly.

We should have been a host last year and hosted the year before that. That's a silly excuse.

Hopefully it'll be cleared out some by close to 6pm.

I think this cheer camp occurs the same week every year

Does anyone know if the order of the regional games is set by the NCAA or the host sites?

Georgia Tech and Auburn are playing in their regional's opening games whereas we aren't (most hosts aren't).

Just curious who controls the schedule.

I read somewhere (not official - a board) that the host site can decide which game they play on Day 1 (game 1 or 2) and supposedly Bama picked game 2 to bolster attendance.
