I once again requesting that folks realize our bullpen has blown very few leads when the game is on the line.

I think last I heard we were like 26-0 when entering the 6th inning with a lead.

That alone should be enough for folks to quit shitting on our pen.

But we have two guys with a sub 2 ERA, a sub 3, and a couple sub 4s.

We also have one of the best closers in the country right now.

Despite the way it appears sometimes, very few of our losses are because of our pen.

And I’m a Jason Jackson critic.

It’s not the blown leads it’s when we are down by 2 or 3 with a chance to come back it gets blown open to 5 or more

It’s because our coaches decide to concede the games instead of throwing our best relievers when we are losing.

Exhibit A Last Night

I don’t necessarily disagree with it.

If that’s the case we can’t complain when we lose series we consider must wins if your conceding 3 run games in the first game of the series

To me, they’re conceding Friday.

I know Quick and Adam’s had few rough games but they’re superior to Fay in every way.

To me, the staff is letting Friday be what it is and taking their chances with Quick vs their Saturday starter and Adam’s vs their Sunday starter.

They really gotta start giving away a hotdog and a drink with admission or something.

I’m guessing there’s a rule against beer promotions.

It’s unfortunate that we don’t have consistent capacity crowds.

Was traveling all day. Good to see we got the W. Let’s get a good outing from Adams tomorrow and feast on a number 3 starter with the bats.

Great win today. Probably need to get to 16 SEC wins to host a regional. Certainly doable.

Guided by Riley Quick's career-best start, No. 18 Alabama baseball evened its series with No. 15 Vanderbilt with a 5-2 win on Saturday at Hawkins Field. The victory improves the Crimson Tide to 36-11 overall and 13-10 in Southeastern Conference play.

Quick (7-2) set the tone for the Tide, tossing career-highs in innings pitched (6.0) and strikeouts (9) while surrendering just two earned runs to go with four hits and two walks. After allowing a run in the opening frame, the big right-hander proceeded to retire 12 consecutive Commodores between the first and fifth innings. Quick struck out at least one batter in five of his six full innings of work, including striking out the side in the second. Braylon Myers entered in the seventh, striking out two in his lone inning of work. Carson Ozmer tossed the final 2.0 innings in the win, retiring all six men he faced while striking out the side in order in the ninth to earn his 14th save of the season.

Coleman Mizell sparked the Alabama lineup in the nine-hole, managing a 2-for-4 line with a solo home run and a double. Garrett Staton doubled twice to encompass his 2-for-4 day, while Kade Snell also produced a pair of hits, including a double. Richie Bonomolo Jr. drove in two of the Tide's five runs, finishing 1-for-5.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"Every time this group has needed to respond, they've done just that. Riley Quick was phenomenal getting us out of the gate and we competed our tails off offensively. Proud of the effort, and we will be ready to run it back tomorrow at 3:00 p.m."

Its why Bama is at bottom of offense stats and still has a winning SEC record. This coach knows what hes doing yall

UA really needs to stop trying to squeeze the fans and boost attendance. Make food for games cheap, lower ticket prices

The University of Alabama is not a for-profit but they have a thirst for revenues. Academic or athletic side of the house, the same story.

We shouldn’t allow football season ticket holders to purchase baseball season tickets just to boost their tide pride points (if that is actually happening).

If feel like a lot of season ticket holders come to like two games per year.

Buying season tickets of any sport gets you an additional tide pride point but if you’re really smart you just donate to the CTF because that gives you more points for your money spent. It does suck though that so many season ticket holders of the various sports don’t actually go to games.
