What a terrible error by LeBron. My goodness, that’s as easy as it gets. You’re literally patting your glove taking extra time and then spike the ball to let the leadoff guy reach.
Vaughn still has to pick that, though.

Upchurch worked around his error and now LeBron’s error only giving up 1 hit in 4 innings to a top 5 team. Our starters have given us a chance yesterday and today, but need the hitters to step up and put 6+ runs on the board and win a game.
LeBron with a decent play and Vaughn with the pick to end the 4th.

We absolutely have to push across some insurance runs with these runners on 2nd and 3rd.

We couldn't hit sand if we fell off a camel.

5th inning: runners on 1st and 2nd, nobody out, top of the order…Fowler fouls 2 bunts and strikes out, LeBron grounds out to 2nd moving the runners, Neal loud out to center. No runs
6th inning: runners on 2nd and 3rd one out…Strikeout, intentional walk, strikeout on 3 pitches. No runs.
Left 5 men on base with no runs when we should have able to score at least 2 without even getting a hit.
Pitching staff deserves better

Crazy we won a game scoring 5 runs for an entire series

And struck out 49 times, avoiding the 50 mark by making contact on the last 2 outs.
Pitchers had a good series overall. We led the majority of innings of the series. Glad we stole one despite blowing all kinds of chances at the plate today and having 2 pretty bad errors.

Avoiding a sweep was pretty much the goal, a win would have been sweet obviously but far from expected
.500 in the SEC gauntlet to date with our RPI is still very solid. Some winnable series on the schedule but the bats have to wake up or we’re so incredibly fricked.

Beat UAB and win the road series in Knoxville and we will be back on track. Essentially need to at least split the series against the Tenn teams, but would like to win 4 out of 6 one way or another (either win both series 2-1 or sweep one of them if we lose one of the series).

Starters need to get us to the 8th. We only have a few BP guys who have decent ERA's and Banks is one of them.

Bama hosts its final midweek game of the season. Need a nice, 12-run repeat of last week’s game. Get to The Joe for $2 Tuesday and Bark in the Park.

Batting .260 as a team right now. Just horrendous hitting. 15th in the league, only above South Carolina
I really think the pitching is fool's gold too, unfortunately. We're 4th in ERA which is obviously good, but we're 15th in strikeouts. That to me is indicative of some fortuitous luck more than elite pitching. We've been fortunate that guys are hitting the balls at people for the most part, but when you can't mow guys down you set yourself up for those huge innings against you where the dam breaks.
It's a scrappy baseball team that has clawed out some wins against better teams, but it isn't sustainable. 15th in batting average, 15th in strikeouts (pitching), 16th in fielding %. We're just not very good. Our base running has been a real saving grace, and we've managed to avoid too many instances of all those batted balls resulting in hits. Vaughn has obviously done a great job of managing games to have us where we are in the win loss column despite the sheer ineptitude of the fundamentals typically required to win baseball games

This team is a clown show
Down 7-0 heading into the bottom of the first. UAB batted around. Bama commits 3 errors in the top half of the inning
